It's like "Come on writers, you're not fooling anyone here. Just call her Sarah already."

Sometimes I can't help but roll my eyes at Sera's name, or specifically the spelling.
It's like "Come on writers, you're not fooling anyone here. Just call her Sarah already."
Why? Have you never encountered anyone with an alternate spelling of a common name? Have you never noticed how such spellings tend to proliferate among people from poorer/less educated backgrounds? I'd say Sera's name fits her character well.

People have been spelling names differently to how others might expect since names and language began. This is a pretty pointless "complaint". -3/10.

I actually prefer the spelling Sera. I think it looks prettier.

I once knew a girl whose name was pronounced "Mary" but was spelled "Maryere". Also the word "Serah" is used in Thedas as a sign of respect for women so I can see Sera naming herself that as an 'f**k you!' to the upper class while due to her lack of formal education not knowing that there's an 'h' at the end of it.
Except that, I thought, they pronounce the title as Sir-rah don't they?

I like how Sera's name is spelled. It's interesting, like Sera.
I was kind of disappointed that Jaws of Hakkon didn't have any extra Sera romance content. I hope the next DLC has some romance content for all LIs.Hi, FemHawke, can't wait for new dlc's, need more Sera!

Would love a dlc with more romance content especially for Sera. I did enjoy The Jaws of Hakkon though, even with the overabundance of spiders. If I ever see another spider it will be way too soon.

And I definitely agree that there were way too many poison spiders in Frostback Basin. I couldn't go five minutes without having to fight them. And I couldn't even run away from them because I would die from their long range poison attack. *grumbles* Stupid spiders...
Rant over. Back to regular non-whining topics... Lol. Has anyone heard any news about the new DLC yet? I haven't heard anything.

Never played it myself, But I hear that Jaws is hard, maybe nearly impossible for nightmare.

No, just very annoying. There were just too many little spiders all over the river that were hard to see.

So far I've only completed it with my first character Tressa, whose game was on hard. It was more challenging than the rest of the game, but I didn't find it that tough. I never wiped or anything. I do use tac cam, pause and actually control my party in tough fights though, as well as taking care over builds and crafting. My current playthrough Aidan is on nightmare. I'll see how I cope when he gets there...Never played it myself, But I hear that Jaws is hard, maybe nearly impossible for nightmare.
Dazzle most of the spiders are small and easy to kill. There are just a lot of them.

It feels pretty ambiguous between sir and ser. It's written Serah/Ser, though.

Yeah. And the biggest god damn thing is in the way if you want to finish the main quest... Well, there's a way around it, but if you're going completionist, it's a part of a quest. Plus it's unlikely you'll take the way around with how the main quest is laid out.
One suggestion: Going down the river, when you start entering a canyon, go into "Ambush imminent" mode.

Hi people who are around.

Ser and serah are different words. Ser is a title of lower nobility in Ferelden, basically like a real world sir (for knights) only gender neutral and with less complex feudalism around it. Serah is a Free Marcher common form of address (also gender neutral because Schrodinger protagonists).

Sera is apparently at least a semi-legit name. I mean, it has a wikipedia page.

I just meant the phonetic pronunciation. I know Ferelden's spell it with an e.
Damn... Either I get over my phobia or that's $15 wasted. *sigh*

Augh. Why does it always have to be spiders? Do they at least warn you ahead of time?

The damn things are everywhere, at least along the river bits - I don't think they're in the swampy bit or the misty bit. Even for those who aren't phobic they are a bloody pain - you can't get away from them, or really avoid them either.
Why they picked spiders to show up all over I'll never know.
