So far I've only completed it with my first character Tressa, whose game was on hard. It was more challenging than the rest of the game, but I didn't find it that tough. I never wiped or anything. I do use tac cam, pause and actually control my party in tough fights though, as well as taking care over builds and crafting. My current playthrough Aidan is on nightmare. I'll see how I cope when he gets there...
I saved JoH for last, after I had cleared all the other zones and had killed all the dragons to get Whisper up to level 24 before venturing into the Frostbacks, and between that and everybody having Fade-Touched Obsidian or Silverite to give them Guard anytime they hit somebody, while some fights took time to win I never had the entire party get KO'd.
Spoiler
Absolutely adorable.
Good Cookies is updated with Chapter 3
Loving this, especially the latest chapter. ![]()
Must have to be really high approval, then. I refused the pranks (without being mean), but did all of the Red Jenny caches (and the majority of stashes in the Winter Palace) and she approved of the majority of my decisions. I triggered the cookie scene even before completing her personal quest, so it's not that, either.
Note: I'm talking about my second, current playthrough here. In my first, she liked my Inq a lot but it still did not trigger the cookie scene. I also hadn't done any of the caches/stashes and was mean to her about refusing to do the pranks. So it must be a really high approval threshold.
I suspect that it's approval-based at the least. She's telling you stuff about her past because she likes and trusts you. It could also be that turning down the pranks stops you from being able to get the scene even with otherwise high approval. I don't know as I've not done that.
I haven't seen the cookie scene yet myself although I did take a quick peek (not the whole thing!) on youtube, but I thought that was always because I had turned down the pranks, (haven't played that relaxed and loose of an Inquisitor yet),
but it looks like you CAN get the cookies without doing the pranks? am I understanding that correctly?

According to BeefheartSpud, yes. I'm sure that you can max out her approval even if you turn down the pranks, but that might involve some meta-gaming...
One quick way to boost her approval is to flirt with Harding, also you get to flirt with Harding so it's a win win
I want a DLC that is a harding story, with her own romance with a new character,
but you start off as the new character, and at first you dont' know how its related to Inquisition, until you run into harding!!!! andt hen it all goes uphill from there on some dangerous scouting mission....
and it would absolutely have to have some Sera in it, Sera, harding and you out kickin ass
and you can romance her, and either join the Inquisition with her or steal her away, depending on your choices...
Scout Harding romancing a non Inquisitor character would suck.
Lace Lovin' for DA4!
I saw that you posted this in the Leliana thread. You said that you don't really ship them yourself and I'm inclined to agree, although somehow I think they could bond over a love of pranks and archery, and maybe actually be good for each other... Or disastrous. It could go either way...

Well, an emotionally immature woman and an emotionally crippled one are not the best influence on each other. They both need someone to ground them a bit.

Well that's kind of what I mean. It's possible that they could compound each other's faults, bring out the worst each other and it could be a disaster, but maybe it could work the other way. Sera could give Leliana some much needed love and a bit of grounding. Sera's focus on the little people could help Leliana to connect again with the real lives she plays with. Also Leliana could give Sera some broader perspective on the world. She's seen a lot, after all.
It could happen, but I think it would work better if there was a third party involved to separate them if the 'dark side' starts to take over.
Sera: That &/"!% pus p*ssing b*stard needs a lesson!
Leliana: Well... that could be arranged if *cut off*
INTERVENTION!!

I would've loved to have seen my Inquisitrix looming over Harding... before bending down for smooching.
Lace Lovin' for DA4!
I'm still hoping for some Lace Loving in DLC. DA 4 will be too late because it will have a new protagonist.
Anyway, I've sometimes suspected Sera's appreciation of flirting with Harding is almost a meta joke. As in, she see that you're flirting with someone who's not one of the designated love interests, and since you're not "supposed" to do that, she approves of you breaking the rules.

I can buy that she's so awesome she can break the fourth wall.
Or maybe she just finds it hot?
I suppose that's possible, but I don't know. What percentage of lesbians are likely to find a (potential) heterosexual couple hot?
It seems in character to me that she approves of you being "inappropriate," either by flirting with someone outside of the official love interests or by hitting on Lace while you are "supposed" to be listening to her scouting reports.

What do you mean? I thought Harding could only be flirted with by a female Inquisitor? If I'm wrong about that, where the hell did I get that idea from?
