Oh, yours was a Qunari. Try with an Elf wearing the fugliest coat in all of Thedas, I'll call it an ACHIEVEMENT.

of course mine was a Qunari lol was planned from day 1 before the game even came and didnt regret my choice :P

lol you were a mage too ? Cose my Qunari was a Mage and that awful brown coat....urghhh....the painnnnnnnn

I couldn't tint it at all.

A male Qunari Inquisitor can tint the light armour but not the heavy. Female Qunari can't tint either.

That's really quite shoddy.

My first, Arianne? No.

My second character, Lyna (ironically, she's a First, while Arianne is a Hunter... heh) is a Mage, wore the fugliest coat in all of Thedas, AND locked a romance with Sera. Oh, and the fun continues - she actually changed the fugly brown coat for the ELFIEST ARMOR SHE COULD FIND.

So, yes, I'm romancing her with an Elven Mage that wore the brown coat until she found the elfiest armor ever. Achievement, right there, yay!

I'm tellin' ya, getting Sera and keeping her as Lavellan was a bit tough.

It is, although the heavy armour looks exactly like the Arishok's armour in DA2, so I don't actually mind too much. I'm surprising myself with how much I'm enjoying playing as an ox-man, actually, and part of it is the perverse pleasure I take from being a Vashoth mage dressed in Arishok gear getting called "Herald of Andraste". I actually have superior tier 2 schematics from the Black Emporium, and I don't think the Tier 2 Qunari ones will unlock until I hit Skyhold, but I'm enjoying the look of Imtiyaz too much. Stats-wise all his companions are better outfitted than he is! :D

And will you all stop dissing the brown coat!? It looks great on an elven mage and Sera likes it just fine! :P

Sorry... I just find the elven armors much better looking :P

Interestingly, the Dalish Scout Armor feels the most realistic of them all, with full-body chainmail. The Keeper Robes  (Mage armor) look acceptable, too, and since they're intended for a Mage, I see no problems with them... but the Warrior Armor keeps large amounts of the body uncovered, despite being a heavy armor, and most likely the one to actually have to withstand a hit. It's no chainmail bikini, and I think it might pass off as a "medium" armor on someone who mostly avoids being hit in the first place (Rogues) but it still feels stupidly lacking in terms of actual armor plating.

Oh well, Sera doesn't really care what Inky wears, right :D

I like the Keeper Robes on Solas. It's about the only way you can stop him looking scruffy.  ;)  I'd like the Elven robes in general much better if they hadn't stuck with the "Elves have magic feet and don't need boots" thing from DA2.

I'm playing an Elven Mage and only tried to tint the light armor. Hmph.

Totally worth the effort, though!

Hmmm... Maybe I have my facts wrong or I wasn't specific enough... I'm talking about the crafted versions here. I haven't tried the ones that get put in your inventory automatically. I definitely tinted the one you see on Tressa on the previous page...

I crafted the top-tier light armor - which one did you craft?

Top tier as well. It was just a test to show Sardaukar what the armour looked like on an elf, so I loaded Tressa's end-game save.

And at a complete tangent... What "somewhat blasphemous" joke do you think has the punchline "Three eggs, a canary and a soggy biscuit"?

Is it possible to romance Sera if you don't go to play pranks with her?

Yes...?

But why would you not do pranks if you want to romance her? It boggles my mind.

Because it's out of character? You do not need to have the same preferences to romance someone, right? This Inquisitor finds Sera attractive exactly because she is so different from herself. Of course, that might mean it won't work out. We'll see.

So, I was listening to some of Sera's conversations and party banter earlier, such as how she's naturally adept at a bow without training, has an apparent ability to see things before they happen, the weird feeling she gets looking at the Breach, how she inexplicably got an entire beehive into Cullen's training dummy without breaking it, getting stung or remembering how she did it...

Anyone else think that she's actually some kind of hedge-mage with some kind of Seer abilities, but which have been repressed due to her extreme fear of anything magical and instead manifest in her preternatual aim and ability to visualise things in her head?

Could definitely explain some of Solas' cryptic comments to her at times, come to think of it.

Rather than meaning she's not being an elf, his comment that she's "the furthest from what [she's] supposed to be" was really about being Sera being a mage who's deeply in denial about it and caused her powers to go askew because of it. Or when he suggests Sera has the potential to do magic if she desired to, only to brush it off as an apparent joke to pay her back for a prank she'd pulled on him.

(I fear I'm in serious tin foil hat mode today)

These things are part of what has lead to the "Sera is Andruil" theory that has done the rounds. I'm not sure that I buy that, but it definitely seems that she is more than she appears to be on the surface. I'm interested to see if they develop her further in DLC, although the fact that you can kick her out on a whim tends to negate that as a possibility, at least as more than a sub-plot...

Yeah, the Andruil theory has always seemed a little far-fetched to me... that's why the idea she was perhaps a hedge-mage seemed a little more plausible an explanation to what is up with her that doesn't require her being yet another god in disguise?

I'm more on board with the theory that Shartan is Solas because a bald elf who strives to overthrow slavery and lead a rebellion fits his established modus operandi, whereas the connections between Sera and Andruil are really tenuous beyond them both being elves who use bows...

(Yeah, the tarot card looks similar to the vallaslin, but with her pose, it could just as easily be "proof" she's secretly Miley Cyrus)

I guess they can always have her return with something like 'Yeah, you kicked me out, but I've decided to hang around anyway."

Yeah I guess you could just have her turn up at the beginning with something of vital importance to the Inquisition for whatever reason...

Maybe Blackwall has been hiding her in the barn... I mean, they're friends and it's not like he can end up even more in the dog house anyway?

I think Sera just has the gift of perception. Many people IRL have it, most do not. Sera is not Andruil, she isn't a mage, she would know that (and she doesn't appear to be repressing any childhood issues, she remembers all that and even talks a bit about it). I just think she has an exceptional talent for judging her surroundings and extrapolating whats to come from what she hears.
