Just dropping in to say Sera really saved my quizzys ass by being around. Goddammit I'll miss that not-elf elf
I would have had a miserable epilogue had she not been such a great friend (Dorian/Solamancer) Even her diary gave me feels. Not sure if different when playing anything other than elf but just found the bit on my solasmance after she asks you how you feel about the creators and if you say fine, she writes about it in her diary "be there for her anyway" The Feels. ![]()

Yeah, she does that for an elven Inquisitor on the romance path too. Her diary is just so wonderful both in the main game and Trespasser. I'm looking forward to seeing what she's like as a friend when I take my Cassmancer Aidan through the DLC.

I wont spoil it but she's beautiful there as well. When your hurting she feels it too. Mind you, her banter might get overridden if you have your romance in the party? She's lovely so is Cass.

OH MY GOD.
Dorian: Now that we have so many samples, how hard would it be to build Eluvians of our own?
Sera: Dorian, how about you not be so Tevinter about the ancient bullshit?
Sera calling out cultural appropriation.... ****** hell I love her more then ever and Marisa Lavellan would turn and kiss her then and there after hearing those magical words.
I mean Dorian means well -- Cole reads into his thoughts on why he wants to do it -- but even so Sera's words are perfection.

Wait, how is that being against cultural appropriation? Hell, being a Dalish myself, I'd agree with him; we should build more.

Tevinter built itself upon the bones of the Elven people, and it would basically just be a continuation of that I feel. And yes, more should be built, but not if the cultural artifacts are going to be stamped out. They're significant to the Elves, and if more do get built and they go into the hands of people throughout Thedas, how much do you want to bet that any haven the Elves might try to build would be targeted as a result?
One could make the argument that the Eluvians are equal parts cultural artifacts that should remain in the jurisdiction of the Elves and technology which knows no borders (and is thus not susceptible to cultural appropriation), but in this case I'm gonna lean towards the former being more important.
More should be built, but I don't think it's wise for the knowledge to be so widely known by Thedas on how to do it.

I should clarify that I mean that we should build more. I didn't mean that it should be made available to the rest of Thedas.

I took it upon myself after about 3 months of not playing this game to romance Sera...as an elven mage KE. I'm sorta surprised at how smooth this has been going and we've gotten all the way up to the conclusion at Adamant. The build up to the romance had me nervous though. Prasca Lavellan does not mince words and I thought they would clash(she's weak for bae doe lol). We'll see how it goes after the Arbor Wilds...ish could get real then.

is that a line that she only says with a mage love interest.. or has it just been too long since i got that far into a romance with her...

no she says it with a love interest period. she told my Cadash the same thing. I forget which convo even leads to that though.

Crap, I'm unhappy again. Not because of Sera; Sera's great. It's just that What Pride Had Wrought is terribly, terribly unsatisfying for an elven Inquisitor. The lack of emotion and proper responses is so palpable that it really damages my experience.

WPHW is definitely bad for Lavellan and it shows that it was written for a human protagonist, not an Elven one.
"Is it possible this Mythal still exists?"
Why would Lavellan, a believer in the Creators, preface Mythal with the word this, sort of showing a skepticism in the notion? A human PC would make sense, even PCs of other races, but a Dalish? Nah.
Then there's Abelas using the term shemlen for us, which on its own I could just buy as him using it to connote quickling but combined with the whole 'this Mythal' moment and the "Who is Mythal?" thing from earlier and the fact BW said the game was originally designed around a human... really makes me question it.
Especially since IIRC Abelas doesn't call a Dwarf durgen'len or Child of the Stone but rather Shemlen

I'm pretty sure that's just Sera being scarred of magical artifacts with little reason again.

An elf being called a Shemlen is fine as that is what modern elves are to him. It's a stark reminder that he does not consider you to be his people much like Solas. I find just skipping the Mythal talking points as best I can helps keep it in character for an elf.

There are several moments in the vanilla game where it's clear that they didn't adapt it enough from the original human-only protagonist. The Temple of Mythal as an Elf is probably the most obvious. I think if anything the DLCs underline this, as especially JoH and Trespasser seem to be much more reactive to your race. I'm sure that the whole game would've been that way had they written it as multi-race from the start.
I'm pretty sure that's just Sera being scarred of magical artifacts with little reason again.
Yeah. I appreciate that Sera has certainly become more tolerant of "elfy-elves" in Trespasser, but I don't think she had cultural appropriation in mind when she made that comment. I'm sure it was more along the lines of "stop trying to mess with crap you don't understand that might get the world blown up."

I didn't really think of it as her being all cultural appropriation calling, but more "Stop being so tevinter about it" does seem to be about, stop thinking about taking the pasts magic and f*ing with it, especially since that could cause a lot of problem. did seem to have problems with qunari messing with all the other races stuff though, if I interpreted her journal right. so maybe //shrug should i still be using spoiler tags?

Now I have to go back to a save before inky gave him the amulet, damn got to go talk with Josie again, listen to brooding Varric about Adamant and stroke Solas's ego some for approval, just to give Cole the damn amulet. Going to have to stop at Sera's place for a pick me up.
