You're experts on Sera here, yeah?

I have a question.

I'm currently playing her romance, but I can't seem to trigger the "bad dream" scene and thus unlocking her romance (+tarot card). I finished the Orlesian+Warden main quests, talked to everybody and got the special scene with her. I even raised her approval by something after doing Red Jenny Caches (+6 slightly approves).

Do you have to say something oddly specific to get the scene to trigger? Does it have to be a certain point in the game (and when is it not possible anymore)? I heard you have to say "you're quick to jump into bed" early on, a dialogue option I didn't take. Did I ruin the whole romance this way?

I saw the topic you posted on the subject earlier, and didn't reply as Dani had already answered. She was the one who I remembered as having had that specific issue. I recall her spending a long time trying to figure it out and getting quite frustrated.

There's a similar (more common) issue where you have to take all available dialogue options to even get the romance to start, so sadly it wouldn't surprise me if Dani were right, but I haven't experienced that problem personally. Maybe someone else here has?

My latest Seramancer. Started working in the emporium, that place is going to be the death of me and got so torn I couldn't decide on which one to use, I've decided to use both, first two shots were the original idea and the last two will be my next Inky. Same face model by the way.

Thank you, the qunari light armor is so impressive on elves, gives them bigger arms and abs to die for. I can't play an elf without the qunari gear now.

I wish that gear worked properly for female qunari... I think it still isn't fixed right.

I thought it was fixed, the skin tones of the face and body match now and you can tint now, I don't know as far as any other issues go.

I hope so because my plan is to get the qunari add on too because I want to see dem lewd qunari abs.

Does BW know of this issue?

I'm pretty sure it's fixed, I was able to tint my qunari's armor and the body skin tone matches her face now. At first it was kind of sad qunari armor and you couldn't tint on qunari's, that's a big facepalm. Also the body skin tone used to be very light compared to the face skin tone. There were other issues with the heavy armor but my qunari's and elves always wear the light armor, so I'm not very familiar with the issues there were with the heavy armor.

Edit: by the way the qunari abs are rather inspiring.

I'd use qunari armor more often if it wasn't so cold in Haven, and if it didn't look like the Inquisitor was wearing more clothes at Skyhold than out in the field, which just seems silly to me.

True enough. By no means am I endorsing the way I look at things; I was a bit curious if anyone else felt the same way, though.

I feel the same. I get a bit awkward about 'appropriate' armour. I care not one jot whether someone else wants to wear the qunari armour in Haven or Emprise, but I can't do it!

I'll admit it seems a bit funny when my Inky is wearing it in the Emprise Du Lion but it's worth it. Elfy Inky looks so much better in it, she doesn't have twigs for arms. :)

Here's a question that came to mind: for everyone who had an elf Inquisitor, what motivated them to pursue a romance with Sera (keeping in mind that the romance has to be very actively pursued with an elf) despite her comments about "elfiness" at the beginning?

I feel the pains. I spent entirely too much time on the Quizzy I have been playing recently. I finally arrived at this after mixing colours and complextion several times.

well my first playthrough was meant to be a qunari, this was when the game first came out, and on the 360 mind, so all the faces turned out ugly. ended up going as an elf. didnt really bother me too much about sera not liking elfiness.

I was just thinking that, I was like, "Give Sera darker hair, a sword and dagger, and she'd totally be the Prince from Prince of Persia Sands of Time.

Sera was the first to treat her more like a person than an authority/religious figure, and being young as well, Sera was a breath of fresh air, someone she could have fun with and forget her worries for a while. Most people openly admitted to full heartedly believing she's the Herald, those who didn't werent her type, but at least Sera wasn't completely sold on it, and still offered silly shenanigans that helped retain my Lavellan's sanity.  Sera does flirt back, subtly, in other banters outside of you flirting... if you at least flirted before. Yeah the "elfiness" thing stung but she expected city elves to be different. She was just accepting and slow with Sera. Sera was someone she was interested in getting to know. She went in with shallow motives and curiosity, came out with something strong, and some changes in opinions.  ..but you know, that's how my inquisitor viewed it...

in terms of elves, I never minded the "twig arms" and I have never bought into the "muscled is sexy" trope so the Qunari armour doesn't do much for me. It just makes them look off. I also think it seems a bit weird in Emprise, but then so does anything Bull can wear. In the end though I like that there are plenty of options from which people can choose.

As Sunnie says it's a largely aesthetic choice in fantasy game so there are no "right" answers.

Here's a question that came to mind: for everyone who had an elf Inquisitor, what motivated them to pursue a romance with Sera (keeping in mind that the romance has to be very actively pursued with an elf) despite her comments about "elfiness" at the beginning?

For Tressa I'd decided that for her, a great part of her motivation for being at the conclave in the first place was curiosity. Her drive to learn had made her a star pupil and obvious choice for Keeper's First, but had also instilled in her a deep desire to find out more about other cultures. She wanted to find people who held other beliefs and world-views and try to understand them.

Obviously she was expecting to find this from humans and dwarves, but Sera... She was so far different from any other elf that she immediately became super-interesting.

Tressa wanted to get to know and understand Sera, and at the same time found her really cute. She also came as a blessed relief from all the posturing and politics. As the game went on she began to understand Sera as she was losing her own faith. She decided that the best way to persuade Sera that not all Dalish were unaccepting isolationists was not through argument but by standing as a living counterexample through her deeds.

By the time Mythal came round, she didn't think that the Elven gods were demons but neither did she think them deities. She suspected something closer to a non-blight-corrupted Corypheus (and she ended up not being far wrong.) She was prepared to let Sera have her way for the sake of love.

It was an odd relationship, but in my mind at least it worked well.

Wha-what?   Really?  It works for qunari females for real?

....

That's.... very.... tempting.... now.  Even though I've finished the game with Isileth... arg.

It was a challenge and because I could imagine falling for someone who is skeptical of you as that does happen often enough in real life to be believable. I also found it possible to play a questioning Elf too and that made things with Sera easier.
