She actually has a banter that touches on this, if you substitute alchemy for enchantment.

Dorian: For being so unnerved by magic, you aren't shy about benefiting from its effects.
Sera: I don't. I use normal things, not magic.
Dorian: You consider swathing yourself in flame or ice more normal and "not magic"?
Sera: For one, it comes out a bottle. For two, I mess up, I get burned. You mess up, your head chucks up a demon. For three? Bottle, little burned, no demons. So there.
Dorian: That was only... you know, if it lets you sleep at night, never mind.

So a little, uh, electricity trick in the bedroom wouldn't bother her in theory, it's just the knowledge that it comes from the scary unstable demon-infested Fade that freaks her out.

I think that she could eventually grow used to it. I mean, if anyone can control the raw Fade, it's my qunari rift mage Hekati. I do wonder, of course, if there would be any relationship complications growing from having one with someone who fundamentally loves magic, as mine does. Probably nothing serious, but it could be interesting.

I think it could work out! But then, I romanced both Sera and Fenris with mages who were generally pro-mage, so...

I had an idea for a prank that a necromancer Inquisitor might play, to have a trio of animated corpses pop up near her in Skyhold and start singing "Sera Was Never." But that might well be a bad idea...

I wonder how Sera would respond to discussions about how to build a better world? What input might she have?

I think her idea of "better word" would be to kill all nobles and dalish elfs share their property and build socialism.

Spoiler

I ran through Trespasser twice with my canon Inky to make sure I didn't miss anything.

And I feel your pain. lol. Sera continuously tempts me too. I had a tough time resisting her long enough to try romancing Iron Bull. I managed to resist her long enough to get Inky into a romance with Bull (I still flirted with her a bit because she is too cute to not flirt with), but I felt really bad when she started talking about 'us cookies' and I almost dumped Bull right then and there. The struggle is real. Lol.

I hope this doesn't need spoiler tags...

Ultimately, I don't think Sera has much version when it comes to building a better world. She's a vigilante that makes sure that those with power are held responsible for whatever abuses that they commit. Noble hits a servant, gets a bee bomb thrown at his face. Chevalier rapes a maid, he gets arrows. The individuals responsible are punished, but the system is allowed to exist. Compare that to a revolutionist who believes in creating a whole new system entirely, like say Solas.

I suppose this is because Sera's pretty cynical and thinks that creating a system will eventually lead to the same problems or make things worse, which is why she keeps things small. With Inquisition showing groups like the Templars, Free Mages, Wardens and Seekers all screwing up after trying to make things better on a grander scale, I think I understand that cynicism.

Anyways, I think Sera's better world is one where the nobility are competent rulers that live by noblesse oblige (Joesphine), powerful heroes like Grey Wardens and Seekers protect the little people and embody idealism and heroism (Blackwall and Cassandra), where mages aren't scary (Dorian), where the Chantry and Dalish accepts everyone for who they are, where Andraste, the Maker or even Mythal answers your prayers like their supposed too, and where normal people can just live their lives in peace without a magical disaster destroying everything they care about.

So, basically regular Thedas but nicer. Much nicer.

the only other romance I managed to complete at this point was Dorian - Sera couldn't be there in my face tempting me as a guy.

so I may or may not have another mini-fic written, with a more vauge lavellan and its mostly just a Lavellan trying to figure out her girlfriend. For those interested

Nice! I can almost imagine Sera passing it off as nothing... but telling the truth about it later.

I have completed Cassandra's romance and started Dorian's and I agree that the only way to truly resist Sera's cuteness is to play as a male. Lol.

Does playing a dedicated Dalish help?

Does playing a dedicated Dalish help?

I have never really played as a pro-Dalish Inky. I prefer to play as a Dalish Inquisitor who is questioning her beliefs. I mean if I did, it might help, but it's just not my style.

Ah, interesting. Why so?

Mine doesn't necessarily believe in the literal truth of the Creators as divine beings, but she's quite devoted to her people and the quest for knowledge. She probably would have romanced Solas had she been attracted to men, and admires him either way.

Probably what she would do... I would like more exploration of her character... but not sure when we'll see her again... like yes analyzing her character is great, but in the end most of what we have is theories and headcanons. This fic was sort of away to work around what we know in canon and not contradict anything

Well, I am an athiest IRL, so I find it hard to play as a believer in the elven gods or the Maker. And knowing what I do about the elven pantheon (after playing Trespasser), it just doesn't make sense for my Inky to believe that they were actually gods. I usually play an Inquisitor who believes that the 'gods' existed but not that they were actually gods and they don't worship them. My elven inquisitors believe that they should forgive and not hold onto past grudges. That's why they get along so well with Sera.

I noticed a couple new things about Sera recently. I didn't realize how reactive her mini-codex notes are. I realized that the Sera's Cabinet of Wonder Whose it Was note in the tavern changes depending on what the Inquisitor says or does. I noticed If the Inquisitor is religious, she tries to learn more about the Chant of Light and ends up getting bored and just drinking toasts to Andraste.

I think that didn't appear on another playthrough I saw.

Also I'm curious, do playthroughs where she is romanced leave in any hints that she's got a thing for Dagna in Trespasser?

Honestly, I'd say a dedicated Dalish is 100% incompatible with Sera. Sera basically rejects even the concept of being elven. In her mind, the elven identity is inextricably tied up with racism. She'll break up with you if you believe in the Creators, but even an interest in ancient elven history is equally a deal breaker for her.

no hints of that, she only has eyes for the inquisitor if romanced... but still eyes up the qunari small grumble

I believe that old grudges can be dropped when their causes are. Once the humans cease racist policies toward elves, cease attempting to convert the Dalish, and cease attempting to bring Dalish mages in as apostates, then we can have productive relations.

The cabinet is one of the great things about Sera. It changes based not only on your religion but your race and the choices you made during the game. It's really quite reactive. The book she leaves on the table in Trespasser is the same. It updates as the story progresses if you go back to it. Also, the thing for Dagna is hinted at there in the main game if you check back right at the end. It's obviously made much clearer in Trespasser, though.
