I don't know what happened but descent has been a pain this play through, I always have Sera in the second spot so she can wake up my squishy dual dagger rogue but Sera is kind of broken. Sometimes she just stands there doing nothing, she won't move she's frozen. I have to go to the next character to wake squishy inky. Earlier today I had something really strange happen, Sera took a dive somewhere, so after the fight was over I clicked to her character and she's screaming in pain stuck somewhere underneath the game. Switched back to inky but all my characters decided to join Sera, all practically dead, all screaming, it was hilarious, at first. I found out that we were stuck unable to do anything, restarted the game still stuck, finally had to go back a half hour, crap all those damn fights again. *sigh*

Edit: a little demo of my skillful team in action. http://onedrive.live...thint=video,mp4

@Xil That's one of my big joys with playing elf, Sera's so much bigger than Inky

It seems with every elf I make their ears get bigger am I trying to make Sera feel better for those ears of hers. :)

I encountered this in the final boss fight in the Descent but with Cassandra. I lose the fight so I reload the save I made where we're all standing on the stone bridge before the final bosses location.

We materialize on that spot when the save loads. I suddenly hear screaming. I don't see Cassandra. I pivot the game camera from side to side and no Cassandra. I still hear the screaming. I switch to Cassandra to see where she is and she has fallen off the platform and is in free-fall. Suddenly the rest of the party is now falling. "Your adventure has ended." I reloaded again but this time with great trepidation. I think it happened because of the annoying walk-abouts all the characters do. I mean really, BioWare, could you not have coded them to stand still when the Inky is still?

Nope. As has been pointed out many times, her body model is just a slightly slimmer version of the human one. Much bigger than most elves.

I really, really wish I hadn't noticed that, because now I'll find it significantly harder to not see her as some kind of mutant elf. Especially since she should, logically, be the opposite of well-fed, given her background...

I'd say that logically she's just a big elf. Given what we know about the variation among humans in the real world there should be much more variation in size among elves (and all the races) than we see. This would lead to overlap between bigger elves and smaller humans. It's a limitation of budget and animation that stops it from happening more in-game beyond a few major characters. Iron Bull also has a different body shape from the standard Qunari, which was evidenced by how the "Spoils of the Qunari" armours initially left huge holes in his body model when you put them on him until they fixed them in a patch.

Howdy peeps!

How's everyone doing?  :) Sadly, that annoying RPG called "Real Life" got a bit complicated for a while, so I was distracted from the more important things.

In better news, I finally got my XBox One, so am playing through DA:I again! Wasn't able to get Trespasser on 360 anyways. -_- Started from scratch, and have just got to Skyhold.  :wizard:  Reason I decided to pop my head back in on this thread is that I actually find myself genuinely considering romancing Sera this time. I chatted to her after we just arrived at Skyhold (don't think I did this last time), and her freaking out about everything was kinda adorable. Plus she's actually pretty funny, and my Quizzy's humorous responses to her are on point for my character. So I've shoved Varric to the side and started bringing Sera about with me for a while. I'll let you all know if you've got a convert or not as I go.  :P

I enjoy the Masterwork Spiked Longbow as well as the Swan Longbow for Sera. Both are Tier 3 and can be made to dish out what is in scientific terms a f**kton of damage.

I'm curious: has anyone ever dressed Sera in silverite Templar Armor?

Why would anyone do that? 65949.gif

Edit: It's ugly, has inferior armor rating, and has the wrong stat set for her.

Maybe the wiki is lying to me, but it says that it has leather utility and defense slots, so the stat set seems basically fine. And the armor rating would be 253, which seems pretty good?

I haven't but that's because I try not to put rogues in heavy armor. I'm remembering that templar armor is heavy correctly right?

Yes it is. I put one of my rogue's in it. but that was my Inquisitor, not one of the companions.

*Disgusted Noise* that armor looks terrible on Sera. Might be good on an assassin Inky who sided with the Templars.

I favour the Grunsmann's Bow schematic from the Black Emporium. With its three offensive leather slots you can really rack up the crit chance, especially with the Thick Longbow Grip. Also it actually looks like a bow not some steampunk or sci-fi contraption.

Maybe it's because I'm unimpressed with Sera's default outfits, but that doesn't look all that bad?

Sera has no definition in that armor. Oddly, it looks better on male characters, I think. Plus, Sera hates both mages and Templars, so having her in that armor is terrible characterwise.

i have yet to purchase anything from the Black Emporium. I never have enough coin. Course if i had at least one of those dlc's...I'm sure i'd craft Sera something lovely. I do love the Curse of Morrac on her.

Is the Golden Nug available on all generations of consoles? I think it is and that should free you up some money in any future playthroughs, as you don't need to re-buy schematics. As it happens I did craft that bow before any DLC had been played by that character, before the Golden Nug came out, but it was very near the end of the main game and my playthroughs tend to be quite completionist...

I think that The Superior/Refined Prowler Mail with matching Prowler Mail arms and legs looks amazing on Sera, but that's just my taste I guess...

I put the Skin that Strikes on her in my last Trespasser playthrough and I thought that was OK... You can get a schematic for it too.

If you have any purple items then storage dupe the crap out of them.

Put an item that's worth a fair bit into storage then press X and O at the same time and if it's done right, you should have one item in your inventory and one in still in storage.
It's a lot easier to pull off on PS3 than PS4 for reasons unknown to me.
