My first comment about any of the companions in this game: (Yeah I'm late to the party.)
Sera goes into my BioWare hall of fame for companions.
Brilliantly written
Brilliant character design

So, since Sera can become your wife I've been wondering how exactly that would affect the myth of the Herald in future. I mean, the Herald is basically a messianic figure that will go down in Chantry history and their significant other is obviously going to brought up while discussing their history.
So, I'm just having a brainstorm session of how the Chantry is going to explain a "colorful" figure like Sera in their history?
Yeah. In a century or two, she'll become Telana number 2.

Well maybe Sera's theme song will at least a bit longer. It is quite catchy after all.
It's actually kind of sad, but the Shemlen will be referring to Arianne and Lyna as if they were humans.
DON'T THEY SEE THE POINTY EARS AND TATTOOS? THEY'RE BOTH DALISH.

It will remembered as one of Lady Sera's favorite songs, she could be heard laughing merrily as it was sung throughout Skyhold's halls by the Herald's Bard Maryden.

Yeah. We actually talked on how in a few Ages, she'll become another Telana. Forgotten by history... or remembered wrong.

Imagine this, then: if a Solasmancer Lavellen gets her vallasin removed, it will only make it easier for the shems to deny her Dalish origin in later ages.
*burn*
Burn acknowledged - will apply medigel on it.

*Looks at Avatar. A Solas romance* Although it does say 'Sera slighty approves' on it. Lol!
Just popping in with my thoughts on Sera.
I like her. I dislike her. I love her. I hate her.
I think her story is well set and done in Inquisition. I think her story is not even close to being done in Dragon Age.
I think she's just her. Just Sera. But I also think there's plenty of hints that she's more. Even a goddess.
Ultimately, I think she has all the story she NEEDS to have, but I think if there's a future game that may take place up to decades in future (DA4? DA5? More?), there may be those in Bioware that REALLY want to bring her back in a new way, and that she has the foundation to be that. I do believe in most of the Andruil theory.
For now, she has years/decades more as the Red Jenny. She's cool/annoying/awesome/terrible as that.
I have the sense that for the general future of the elves, Sera may presently play almost no role in it but a future story could have her be central to it. Past Dalish, past City Elves, past Ancient Elves, etc - into the future. But for now, rule this day! She's the 'wrong' kind of elf but one day she'll be exactly that's needed.
Just IMO.
I think a lot of DAI is as much setup for DA4+ as it is a partial conclusion to DAO-DA2 matters.
Any matter of a future game that might have her/some form of her, will obviously have to have it understood that players may not have played DAI/recruited Sera/kept Sera. It is part of what makes me think we'd see a significant character change if we see her again, and we can be allowed to like/dislike this change. 'Easy to pin down' isn't what I'd ever describe her as.

I felt at the end of Trespasser that of all the characters we are likely to see again in DA4, even if they are not companions, Sera and Dorian seem the most likely as both left the Inquisition at the conclusion of my game and so I could see both sort of intersecting again with a future plot. Dorian is probably the most likely if the next game heavily involves Tevinter.

Sera is the epitome of a well written Chaotic Neutral character, especially with Trespasser DLC. Its perfectly natural to feel this way about her.
Chaotic neutral? I figured her to be chaotic good, given how much she cares for the "little people". Yeah she can also be a dick, but not enough of a dick to shift her to neutral imo.
Good point, right there.

"That noble is actually very charitable and has built up several industries in the area with above poverty wages for workers."
"PFFT I didn't want to know his life story, toss off! Nooobles are nobles!"
*Sera knocks off the noble because his servant was pissed off and made up a bad story about him*
You know she would. She may come from the most legit place, but its not necessarily where she lands. She has simple solutions for (what she considers) simple problems. Its most often the case she lays out. Its not ALWAYS the case she lays out.
So in your made up scenario that doesn't ever actually happen, she got fooled and her biases exposed. She's still doing it for what she believes to be the right reasons. That's not neutral. Her view of the world can be very simplistic at times, sure, but she acts in a way that she believes to be good.
Also, she doesn't hate Josephine, Cassandra, Dorian or a noble inquisitor who is nice to her. People can be of noble lineage and on her good side, so I don't think she would do that if presented with evidence that the noble was in fact a decent person.
