And the Inquisitor's inaction in such a case is just a reinforcement of Solas' first action.

Everyone would have magic, but I suspect no one would need to fear possession.

The Inquisitor's inaction? I suspect that the Inquisitor hasn't a clue in how to accomplish that but surely won't buy into Solas's plan for a cleanse that leaves Elves supreme.

If only that was the only evil thing people had to fear then everything would be dandy.

He made his bed, now he has to lie in it. The Inquisitor is just a bystander who survived him trying to "correct" his mistake again.

What about the people that don't want magic? I suspect I can name a few. >____>

I suppose this won't be sorted out until the fourth game, so I will attempt to calm down. But I'm beginning to think that the fourth game would be a better place than the third for the elven hero I want to play, so it might be my qunari Inquisitor that I import.

It's really hard without knowing what our options will be - whether those're actual concrete actions or just dialogue options that give us an opportunity to express how our character is feeling. Maybe the next game will give you an opportunity to say that you don't think sundering the Veil is a terrible idea... as it stands, the Inquisitor's a bit railroaded in their opinions.

Yep. We're just engaging in a little fandom speculation here. Harmless as things go. I really do think the proper hero to challenge Solas might be Elven so I suspect I might want to play as an Elf to start the next game providing, of course, it does feature the race to stop Solas. All sorts of fun dialogue and moral and ethical options there!

Hopefully. But more important than that is for the next game to actually give half-decent racial dialogue options for things with the impact of, say, the Temple of Mythal. Or Solas, for that matter.

What I'm hoping for is that I can ally with both Solas and Tevinter in some capacity, and crush the qunari.

Absolutely. More race reactivity is always ideal. Especially if we're going north, with Tevinter and possibly even Par Vollen on the horizon...

I don't, necessarily, have a problem with the idea of crushing the Qun however I am not sure I'd want to assist Solas at all. Convince him not to use his T-38 Explosive Space Modulator maybe but not ally with him. :)

Quick question. How do you think Sera would get along with various DAO/DA2 companions? We know about Leliana, Morrigan, and Varric... but I wonder how she'd get along with someone like Aveline, Shale, Zev, etc.

I'm thinking she'd have a, err, distinct problem with Loghain. Maybe she'd be good drinking buddies with Oghren?

She'd like Oghren a lot. I can see some awesome clashes with Aveline or Wynne.

I imagine that her relationship with Aveline would be... Interesting... If Cass is anything to go by she'd have a lot of respect for Aveline's tanking abilities, but I'm not sure that Red Jenny and the leader of the Kirkwall Guard would see eye-to eye on much...

I could see Sera wanting to use shale as a mobile archery platform, but I'm not sure she'd agree...

I'm pretty sure that exterminating everyone who isn't an elf in the hope that the elves will survive the upheavel caused by the destruction of the Veil is a terrible, terrible idea. Cosmic level madness.

I think so.

Destroying the Veil to fix having brought the Veil about is probably a profoundly bad idea. Sometimes you have to let things be lest you make things worse! Destroying the Veil sounds like a bad idea from the same guy who had the original bad idea that brought it about to begin with!

I think whether the world is "broken" is a subjective quality for most people. I don't believe most of the people and civilization of the current world could exist without the Veil and (if he's friends with the Inquisitor) Solas doesn't pretend his plan makes the world objectively better, just better for his people.

Since creating the world with the Veil was an enormously destructive event, it stands to reason undoing it might be equally destructive. For all we know, it can only be done in a way that resembles opening the Eye of Terror. I mean it's not like we know enough to conclude that cannot or should not possibly be the case.

And even if it can be Veil can be destroyed without a destructive effect like that, it's definitely going to release some destructive beings, even not counting all the demons and spirits that will be free to interact with all the unprepared mortals, the Evanuris are probably going to be so pissed that I expect them to start smashing every single thing there is to smash out of spite.

^^ Yeah, it's sort of a given that Solas' plan will blow up in his face just like his last one. The narrative convention pretty much demands it.

It's fun to think about, right? Though I think Aveline might have the upper hand in this scenario... she has a lot of experience being aggravated to within an inch of her life by freewheeling rogue ladies. I think Sera and Fenris would get along well, if she could get past his broodiness. Under that moody facade his sense of humor isn't all that much more mature than hers, lol. Plus there's the whole magic and non-elfyness bit.

I'd quite like to see Sera meet Merrill. I suspect Sera might not know what to do with Merrill's extreme niceness.

I think she'd be conflicted because on the one hand they disagree on some pretty substantial issues, but on the other hand Merrill's reeeaaallly cute. :P

I'd kind of like to see this too. Merrill is very cute but also very gentle in nature and being a sort of outcast Elf she might have the ability to get Sera to relax a bit about magic. Not saying they would not disagree on some big issues but Sera might find it hard to be too harsh given Merrill's overall personality. I mean Sera wasn't really onboard with Cassandra's way of things either but they seemed to respect each other by the end of most of my games and even like each other a little bit. Sera isn't always so "all or nothing" with everyone. It's situational sometimes,I think.

Yes that's the one. You think she'll disapprove but she doesn't. You need to ask everything that you can. Then next time you talk you should get the scene that starts her romance quest.

Success! Thanks for tips on this. I talked to Sera two more times and went through all of her dialogue options about her past. And then I was finally rewarded with the romance option. Now I'm talking to people about what gift to give Sera.

Spoiler

It's a bit strange that when asking people for their advice on a gift, which is a quest to complete, that others would give disapproval ratings. I just got disapproval from Cassandra, Solas, and Vivienne when asking.

I don't know how to do those spoiler click boxes, so I'll just mention that the following could be considered a spoiler.

Possible spoiler: And Viv's advice, hysterical. I know she was being sarcastic and snarky, but that's too funny. And Sera will love it.

Yeah, Cassandra and Vivienne are - I think - concerned with the Inquisition's image. Solas just doesn't approve of her non-elfyness, I guess?

Though Cass comes around and gives you her blessing and even Solas says in some general, non-Seramance related banter that you can't help who you love. Vivi, uh... never quite manages lmao.
