She may be ignorant of all that went on in the novel, but don't forget that she was the Red Jenny of Val Royeaux. I think there's a very good chance that she knows a fair bit about Briala...
And Sera still supports Celene after her mass murder?

I don't think she really supports any of them. She dislikes Briala a touch more than the others, again because she doesn't like singling out elven oppression, but in the end she is happiest if you have all three ruling as your puppets.
And Sera still supports Celene after her mass murder?
She hates them all. That's why she imagines shooting arrows into all three of the leaders after the Winter Palace. She even compares them all to Corypheus.
Based on the game. I'm blessedly ignorant of the novel, and more importantly, so is Sera.
But the game itself suggests that Briala deliberately tried to get her killed to cover up how close she was to Celene during the Purge of Halamshiral and offers no alternative explanation.
Then what is necessary for her to realize is that humans will never help elves, as a society. There'll be some humans who will overcome culturally ingrained prejudices against elves, certainly, but human society will not go out of its way to help elven society (and those societies are separate, like it or not). Elves have to stand for themselves, and I don't believe that can be done without the use of an elven identity. This doesn't mean rejecting humans, but it does mean not relying on humans.
I'm not saying I see it that way, but she doesn't care about "elves" specifically. She'd prefer elves abandon the idea that they are any distinct from any other downtrodden folks and just be "people."

And yet she gets upset if Celene dies.

Really? I thought it was patently obvious that she was looking for information on Gaspard and was ambushed by Florianne's assassin, someone no one was aware of.

Well, that's objectively false, as the way they're treated most certainly creates distinctions (also, the fact that they can't have children who carry their characteristics with humans).

She also approves if you get Celene to spare Gaspard's life. Maybe she just doesn't want any of them to get killed when the Inquisition is there..

Except Briala, who can apparently hang.

She doesn't disapprove, but she doesn't approve of you implicating Briala, either. As I said, she dislikes Briala slightly more, but she can't stand any of them.

I apologize if I've been overly combative. I don't mean to drag you into other issues, though I confess that it's more pleasant to argue in this thread because it doesn't have any horrible people in it.
I haven't seen the "Celene Dies" outcome yet because I was saving that for a later playthrough, but if I were to guess, it would be the principle of letting people die for the greater good that she objects to.

The elf that you rescue suggests that it is Briala that sent her in there to die specifically to cover up the fact she knew the two of them were together. And it's that very fact that gives you the leverage over her in the ending decision.

Of course, but Sera just doesn't see it that way.

It's alright. I may not agree with you on many things, but you're not a troll and you're not generally rude, either.
I suspect if she approves of Gaspard's exile, it's because she sees it as an extra humiliating punishment because she does approve of Florienne's execution.
Well... The others may be nobles and therefore detestable to her but their dealings are are all part of the world she knows. Florianne is also in league with Corypheus. That's an extra-huge black mark right there.

I see no reason to believe her.
Of course, but Sera just doesn't see it that way.
Then the question becomes "how can she be led to see it?" Maybe just explaining things the way I've explained them here would help?
I see no reason to believe her.
Why? Shouldn't she know?
It's not just her, no other character suggests that Briala wouldn't do something like that. Not even Briala herself.

Since Briala didn't know about Florianne's plot, why would Briala know about Florianne's assassin?
Didn't she know there was some kind of dangerous assassins going around? This was after her agents found the other emissary murdered.

Her entire network did. But the royal wing was sealed off. The agent would not have known less about what was going on than Briala.
Video I make of Sera just well saying things ![]()
Honestly, in my 1st play-through I though she was crazy and weird. Then in my 2nd play-through I was evil and we did not get along at all. Then in my 3rd play-through I had her as a regular in my party and really got to know her and my opinion complete changed of her. She is awesome. Sera + Solas + Iron Bull is a great party combo for banter.
Sera is great for any kind of party bantering! I love Sera + Blackwall and Sera + Vivienne as well. I didn't use Sera in my last playthrough and I didn't get nearly as much party banter as I do now. She's so adorable.
I can't imagine playing without Sera. She's like the mascot and to a certain extent the soul of the group i.e. the reminder of people from humbler things and what it's all really about.
I guess everyone gets their favorites after playing for a bit but my permanent party has gotten to be Sera, Cass and Dorian. ![]()
