Some amusement.

From here.
Robyn Addison has an English accent from Derbyshire. Fereldans have various English accents. It's true that we've not encountered a Derbyshire accent before but her accent fits the lore well enough.
Ferelden has a ton of English accents roaming around, so having someone like Sera with a Midlands accent isn't all that strange.
Blackwall having a Northern accent fits with him hailing originally from Markham, as we've seen that most (human) Marcher characters tend to have UK accents. Kirkwallers tend to have English accents, while Starkhaveners often sport a Scottish accent. If we accept the default English accent for Trevelyan in Inquisition as "canon", then Ostwick similarly would follow this trend.
Well, are you talking about her accent or her diction?

Blackwall sounds like a redneck to me. "You've saved y'selves!"
That would explain my confusion.
*blinks*
How familiar are you with British accents?
Yeah, it doesn't sound at all like a Redneck accent, those are more vibrant and colourful.
The Northern accent is far more understated and somewhat grimmer... which despite that somewhat unflattering sounding description, isn't actually a bad thing at all, since it makes the accent far more enjoyable to listen to and gives it an odd sense of gravitas.
The accent definitely suits someone like Blackwall, because the way he talks with such a no-nonsense and down-to-earth manner about being a soldier and fighting, it makes you fail to realise on your first playthrough that he's bluffing his way through Warden information. While he is vague when it comes to being a Warden, he otherwise sounds like he's speaking with authority on battles and has definitely been a soldier all his life.

My money's on... yeah.
So, I recently started my first Sera romance (as a counterweight to the infamous Solavellan hell), and I became so charmed by this character. Sera is lovely! (You already knew that.) Anyway, I made a video to play along with my new and improved impression of her.
I use Cinematic Tools and Premiere Pro to recreate in-game dialogue scenes from DA:I, and this video is a cinematic remake of a quest that made me smile: "A Woman Who Wants for Nothing". Maybe someone on this subthread would fancy taking a look?
(If someone knows of a more appropriate subthread for this kind of video creation, please let me know! I am honestly quite disoriented on all forums and social networks.)

Don't worry. it's in the right place. Great work! ![]()
*waves* I know this forum is almost dead right now, but I've been off DA:I for so long (burnt myself out lmao, but I'm playing again), I just finally finished my Seramancing run with Trespasser. (I did my main character first then put the game aside) It was very sweet, a nice ending for them. I don't even think I dropped by back then to say how glad I was to see Sera get some character growth (wrt to her elf issue) in the DLC, but it was nice to see. Hope everyone, if anyone sees this lmao, is doing well. ![]()

Hey veeia! The thread is very quiet these days but a few of us keep an eye on it. Glad you enjoyed Sera in Trespasser. I think we all relished her growth and I for one felt vindicated because I'd said all along that it could happen with time to adjust to being in an environment where she felt wanted and appreciated.

Yes, same! I remember us talking about this awhile ago. High five.
I particularly liked how it played out, not a big turn or a Change of Heart, but a slow maturing.
Really glad to hear that you enjoyed your Seramancing playthrough all through Trespasser Veeia, currently playing a Lavellan Quizzy who won't be able to resist singing the Seranade! First time playing an elf since DA:O and so far lots of fun
Ooh, I haven't done the Sera romance with a Lavellan. Not sure I'd want to, lmao, when I play Dalish I go elfy-elf and after doing the Solas romance, I don't know if I would want to do another round of "my lover is a jerk about my people." I did like the friendship between Lav and Sera though. It worked out better than I thought.

She still throws pies at people though, so only so matured.

Veeia!!! I'm so happy you're posting again. It's been so long.

It's good to be back! I'm glad to see several of my buddies are still around.
Sad that it's so slow, but that will give me time to start going back through threads and seeing what kind of interesting (or obnoxious) discussions I missed.
Did Trespasser soften people on Sera at all, since she lets go of some of her anger + can provide the Inquisitor with a kickass prosthetic? Or is it same old, same old, haha.
