Frankly, I'm not sure it should be fixed.

Even if they somehow got it to work again, it would never be like it once was.

I personally don't think they should get back together again. Maybe if the option is there, I'll try it, but I think its beter for both of them to just part ways.

I don't think she will be needed in the plot, but I do think she will be important. There is nothing about Sera that says "porny" rough, crude, funny woman who probably get us in a lot of trouble and may or may not grind the nerves, yes. But there is nothing so far to make me think she is just there for a sex symbol.

One may not have thought of it for Samantha either... but I suppose you're right. Maybe despite being axed with TME and Cassandra and Vivienne, we won't be here...

I've heard it said that some things, once broken, can be stronger than before when they're repaired.

I can't think of any romances I'd class as "porny" except maybe Jacob's. And I tend to prefer the romance arcs not tied to the plots because they're less constricting.

Well, she does fill a necessary role. And I'm hoping (bah, hope still) that she clicks with my Inquisitor due to being the one who can make her laugh.

Have faith in Sera, dear Xil!!

Yeah, DA2 was so bleak, Merril's insanity actually acted as stress relief.

Eh, there was Isabela, Varric and Aveline. Those 3 had the best lines in game. ^_^

Theoretically? It'd have a lot of prerequisites attached, but I wouldn't call it impossible.

Faith... well, all right. At least the surprise would be pleasant in that case.

Has DA ever given us a companion who was just there to be sexy? Isabela was probably the most sexualised LI we had, but she had good characterisation and character growth.

I think the LI who had the least connection to the plot was Leliana in Origins (we could miss her entirely, after all), and her romance was sweet.

Well i'm a straight female and still am happy to romance Sera even though she doesn't fit my sexuality, but let's understand not everyone really likes role playing. I wish they did cos I find it so enjoyable to play someone in game that I'm not in real life, but I can see their disappointment as well.

Then they are missing out on the point of RPG's, playing a virtual over fantasied version of yourself gets boring real fast, I used to only play straight, white male, made him look like me and gave him my name and that made both ME and DA get old fast and it was only after playing as a female that these games became fun again

Not everyone can play the opposite gender. I personally wanted to romance Cass but i can't play dudes so I won't romance her... maybe one day and when i have the mood to roll a dude.

It's not that easy for some people.

Then people need to stop fussing about her being gay, if they can't play one playthrough of being a female then they don't want to romance her as bad as they claim

Yeah but they're quite serious during their respective arcs, especially Isa who really rubbed me the wrong way (wait that sounds quite wrong...).

Merril looked like she was on an other planet, completely disconnected from reality, and I liked that, it was a nice change from Anders ranting on, and on, and on.

Sounds about right to me. :D Isabela can get annoying really fast with her 'it's not my problem' attitude. Cause trouble for everyone and refuse to help us solve it. Classy.

I had the same problem with Alistair. His whole 'I can't be the leader so you do it. And I'll never offer alternatives but I'll complain about your decisions anyway'. Thanks dude, that's really helpful *sarcasm*

If I we get a character who constantly causes trouble but at least tries to fix it I'd find it less annoying.

This is the case for me. I don't find it enjoyable to self insert, it's actually vaguely uncomfortable for me at times so I rarely do it.

I would really appreciate it if you would stop telling people how they should play the game. Everyone can play however they want. Or is there a true way of playing that I am not aware of?

On topic: I am also a little bit worried about Sera importance and I hope she doesn't turn out to be like Leliana in Origins.

I liked when Morrigan basically calls him a wimp :P

I understand not being able to switch genders to romance someone. It is a personal choice and some people just can't do it and that's okay. (I feel like that post was edited because that's not why I said what I said). I have not been able to romance any males in this series except Fenris. Which is why you don't see me fangirling in any of those other threads. I have zero interest in them outside of being MAYBE a friend and battle buddy. Das it. So I'm not knocking anyone's choices.

To the matter at hand....I want meeting Sera to feel random...if that makes sense.

Can only agree here, playing a virtual version of me is possibly the most boring thing that I can fathom in a RPG. That other people can do that is just cool but I can't

Just because someone doesn't enjoy playing opposite their gender doesn't mean they don't roleplay. In DAO I roleplayed as a human noble, a Dalish elf and a city elf. None of those characters were me but playing opposite my gender and orientation is just not enjoyable to me.

Not in my case hah, there was no moment that made me feel angry about her, besides that i just can't be mad to this face of hers.

Same for Merrill.

And yet again, this is your own opinion. Nobody is "missing out". People will play as they like.

Different people have different playstyles (shocking!). Me I like to use exploits to 'break' the game. Some people say it's cheating, or that a game can't be fun if it's easy, or whatever. It's just a different taste and, as has been said before, my playing a certain way doesn't stop you from playing your way. (Multiplayer notwithstanding, but I never use it)

Anyway, let's have a show of hands: how many people here will try tequila and skittles to get an idea of what Sera is like?

Oh, most definitely as I eat my skittles and wash them down with tequila, well not really it is a little early yet. :)

The latest alone? The Vivienne idiocy leaving us back at bloody DAO levels of fairness.

Ummm, you have Sera and Josephine. That's two options the same as gay males and straight males
