Ummm, you have Sera and Josephine. That's two options the same as gay males and straight males
I think she means as lesbians having half the options of straight females, which is true in both DAO and DAI.

I would really appreciate it if you would stop telling people how they should play the game. Everyone can play however they want. Or is there a true way of playing that I am not aware of?
On topic: I am also a little bit worried about Sera importance and I hope she doesn't turn out to be like Leliana in Origins.
wow touchy much? All I said was self insert in RPG's gets dead boring after awhile and that is from personal experience, the whole point of RPGs and most video games is to not be "you", just stating my opinion, if you don't like it that's your problem not mine anyway moving on
back to Sera I have a feeling whether she is actually important to the story or not her personality alone will make up for it, even unimportant people can shine with a big personality
When I first flipped through the characters, she was the one I was going to romance.
Then she ended up only liking women.
*sigh*
Welp I wanted to romance Cass but she only likes men.
*eternal sigh*
Given how poorly Bioware has been treating the lesbian community as of late, I wonder if we really should be so excited about Sera...
I'm gonna remain optimistic until proven otherwise. And to be fair different teams, I've generally been quite happy with the gay options I've played through in the DA universe so far, Leliana, Izzy, Merrill (sorta) and Sera will be unique as the first lesbian option we've ever had. So yup what I know of her so far I'm liking and I'm gonna go into it positive. I'm not too worried.
Also I'm not annoyed that straight gals got two more options then the rest of us, rather it go to our sisters than the usual crowd. But that's just me. ![]()
I like the majority of the LI's this time. I'm still miffed about Viv but i've mostly gotten over it and hope she might be romanceable in the next game. Sera seems really interesting so far and I'm looking forward to knowing her character. I think the DA team will do a good job with her, or at least I hope they do
lol never change Crimson

It's not the end of the world if a character can't be romanced. They can still be enjoyable characters without bedding them. I hope they keep characters like Varric and such off limits for romance.

I would have loved to romance Viv also but alas it wasn't to be *stares sadly into the distance* I trust Bioware have a good enough reason why she ain't available to us. Just gotta play and see eh.

What makes you so sure she'll be in the next game?

Eh, I disagree that Bioware should give a reason for someone to not be a romance option
But if there is a reason, even then it shouldn't matter

I was excited to romance her because she's the first DA companion that is a darker skinned woc like me and a romance is just another avenue to explore the character deeper.
What makes you so sure she'll be in the next game?
I'm not sure at all which is why i said I hope she will be
Because Bioware likes to use new characters for a new game.
It makes the world feel so small otherwise. And yes I know Varric is back as companion, but he is once again not a LI.
What makes you so sure she won't be in the next game?
For the next game, hopefully it takes place in the northern part of Thedas which makes her reappearance very slim

Wait...what about Isabella?

I would like to know why she was off limits myself, expand her character. Maybe she is already involved with someone or maybe not, maybe she is married to her ambition doesn't have time for romance. We'll play and see.
Was it ever confirmed who Sera's VA is?

Personally, I hope that there's a clear reason why Vivienne can't be romanced...because that would be a backstory for her, and "she's busy working for the Inquisitor" isn't good enough. Even Oghren, Sten, and Wynne had reasons that were clearly explained in the game as why they weren't romanceable (I don't know if there were a lot of people asking about them, but there it was). I find her interesting, so I want to know more about her.
As for Sera, I have to admit that at face value, what I know about her doesn't seem like my "type" or particularly fresh or new for f/f LIs (out of the three previous f/f LIs in DA:O and DA2, two have been rogues, and the other was an elf, so yeah, elf rogue...), but I'll give her a chance to surprise me.
I feel like I'm going to be booed out of the thread for saying so, but I hope she isn't actually an easy, simple romance. Carver and Aveline were two of my favorites from DA2 because I felt like I really had to earn their respect, and even when they didn't like my characters, I enjoyed them. If Sera makes me feel anything like that I'll be satisfied.
From the new Skyhold interview:
[CL]: You are free to return to and explore Skyhold as often as you like, which means you can talk to all of your followers and major characters you've recruited into the Inquisition. Many of these major characters have their own rooms that reflect their role in the Inquisition.
So it sounds like Sera joined the Inquisition in order to make money out of selling drinks... *knock on wood*
Also I'm not annoyed that straight gals got two more options then the rest of us, rather it go to our sisters than the usual crowd. But that's just me.

By which I mean... I actually don't care who gets how many romanceable characters. After all... romanceable isn't even a word! ![]()
Wait...what about Isabella?
Isabella is still darker skinned than most companions.
(out of the three previous f/f LIs in DA:O and DA2, two have been rogues, and the other was an elf, so yeah, elf rogue...)
Rogue is hardly an homogenous category of people, you can have religious knights as well as selfish pirates and dashing storytellers merchants.
It's like saying she has short hair, well yes, that doesn't mean she's the same as other short-haired LIs.
