Not a big fan of Sera's haircut myself, but her personality sounds fun.

 

 

 

He simply said that he thinks Sera is unattractive. Nothing wrong with that. Its called an opinion.

 

While it is true that fan threads will mostly contain fans who will only talk about positive things, that doesn't mean someone can't come in and say something more "negative".

 

So long as its not trolling.

coming in saying you have a problem with their character is an excuse to say something negative however we don't know enough about her character to make those claims, but coming into a thread to say how unattractive she is compared to the other female characters is more of an attempt to start something than just simply stating an opinion

I will never understand people who come into a character thread knowing it is full of fans of that character just to bad mouth the character *shrugs* oh well guess they have nothing better to do, that or he couldn't find the Josephine or Cassandra threads

I expect comments from pretty much everyone on that subject. Except maybe Josephine because she'll be too polite to say anything, Iron Bull because he doesn't care and Cassandra because it doesn't matter.

 

I'm so looking forward to playing team last nerve. The only problem is that I like to play rogues and that would be a three rogue party with one warrior... Mind, it could be done in Origins and DA2, so hopefully it is still manageable. I'll need to invest a lot in potions.

 I only had one rogue in DAO and that was Leliana, in DA 2 I had two rogues, Varric (range) and Isabela (physical) my party will probably have two warriors which will be my female human Inquisitor and IB, my rogue will be Sera and my mage will be Vivi, but then again I will want Varric in my party so ugh nvm back to planning

Personally, I find Sera to be quite unattractive, so I'm not really that bothered that I can't romance her. Cassandra and Josephine are both much more attractive if you ask me (Josephine, in particular, is really good looking); I actually wasn't too fussed about Cassandra to be begin with, but she's grown on me, and I'm glad that I've got her as an option instead of Sera.

FFS people, I'm not 'hating' on Sera, trying to stir up trouble or anything like that. After reading through a lot of the comments it became quite apparent that a lot of people seem to find Sera attractive - something I didn't 'get' because I really do not - so I thought that I'd add my opinion into the mix to, you know, offer a different point of view (shock horror!) as most people seemed to be in agreement. You know, if people actually properly read my comment you'd see that I used the word 'personally' (as in it's purely MY OPINION), so it's not like I'm stating that Sera is ugly as if it's a fact, I'm merely stating that as my opinion. If you find her attractive, then good for you (or bad I guess if you've wanted to romance her as a male character) but I really do not, and I just wanted to share my thoughts seeing as how most people seemed to think otherwise. I knew that most people would probably disagree with me but I'm not going to not air my opinion just because of that.  

 

@lady_v23: I'm not surprised really at the flack that I've received when you consider how overly sensitive a lot of people are on this forum. Say anything even remotely negative on threads like this and you're bound to get hate.

 

@TheLastSuperSaiyan87: So if someone disagrees with something popular they should just be quiet and not offer their honest opinion, or rather they should instead just agree with everyone else? If everyone thought like you there would never be any progress in this world; "Oh, it's a popular opinion, guess I shouldn't ever share my disagreement with it in order to keep everyone happy".

By the way, with regards to romances, I haven't been whining'; go and have another read at my previous comments. If that's whining then anyone who's ever had a complaint about anything is a whiner - merely expressing dissatisfaction with something isn't necessarily whining. Also, we all know that if it was anyone else from another group of people complaining instead (i.e. not a straight male) about the romance options, people like you probably wouldn't call it whining, but rather you would be calling it a valid complaint (or something like that), wouldn't you? Am I right?

 

@Danielle100: I wasn't actually trying to 'rub it in' to lesbian/bi women, so to say, I was just merely expressing my satisfaction with having Cassandra as a romance option rather than Sera because, to me at least, with regards to looks Cassandra is much more attractive. If my comment came across as trying to 'rub it in' to lesbian/bi women then I apologise because that was not my intention at all.

When you come into a character's discussion / romance thread around here and say something negative, people might take it the wrong way if they don't know you. It's much like walking into a new, unknown bar, walking up to a random person, knocking the drink from their hand and saying, "Come at me bro / sis."

 

What started this is your personal opinion, and that's fine. But if the regulars take it badly, think about how it might have sounded to people who have a vested interest in the character, as well as to the developers who put a lot of time and effort into her/him. Don't flame out, just explain what you meant.

I can understand the attitude better when it's something about the character's personality that bothers them (Alistair dumping responsibility on the Warden, for example), but we don't know the characters yet and coming in here to say Sera is ugly and the other ladies are so much better is just weird.

I think this pretty much explains the problem with the current topic, really this thread has become known as the laid back and humor thread and we don't need this kind of drama and BS in here, if he wanted to voice his negative opinions on Sera there are plenty of threads on here that are bashing the romance options but the fact he picked the Sera thread to do it just shows he wanted a rise out of people and to start something, and then coming back and singling  people out who didn't agree with him makes his case look even worse. Having a negative opinion and starting a problem in a thread are two different things, and this reeks of a newcomer trying to start something.

So, did you want other people to tell you why they thought she was attractive? Was that your intention?

 

Also, being contrary in character discussion threads--something that I do very often indeed in the Cullen thread--is more art than science. But one vital thing to remember is: always give reasons for your opinion and don't just come in to fire off something randomly negative, because that reads more like trolling than it would if you backed it up.

I find your tendency to get thrown around very fitting for the character whose thread this is.
