She could be in her 20s, although she must have been in this work for some time to establish her own network of rogues (if the survey is still accurate, which may be th case given how it was on the mark about the peace meeting).

I believe the depiction of Elves with pointy-ears originated with Tolkien. The influence of Dungeons & Dragons (which borrowed heavily from Tolkien) also helped make that the 'standard' depiction of them in modern fantasy novels or games.
True, but I always assumed that the network of Rogues were made of people she met growing up in the alienage. Assuming she started the whole thieving thing when she was a kid, by now she could have made an impressive amount of contacts.
I know, but it's not just elves though, even though they are famous for it. Fairies, pixies, gnomes and whathaveyou all have that trait 
In many ways I think elves in norse mythology mostly relate to nymphs or sirens, being lithe beautiful creatures that lure the wayfarer away from the road and feast on his virgin soul xD

That could be true for a lot of her contacts, but I'd guess the thieves and rogues she rubs shoulders with with are multi-species. If there is a kind of thieves guild it would probably include elves from the alienage and poor humans, and assuming there are some in her home town, perhaps some surface dwarves as well.

You have a good point. If she's from Ferelden, she may have been brought into the line of work by fellow Alienage resident Slim Couldry.

Interesting piece of information earlier. I had thought Tolkien's elves didn't have pointy ears since I didn't remember any mention of it in any of his stories, which stands out since he is usually extremely descriptive, and because the contemporary drawings I have stumbled upon depict his elves with round ears. Even so, it seems to me Middle Earth's elves borrowed as heavily from Celtic mythology and folklore as from German (the ethnicity, not the country) stories, if not more. The 'knife-ears' would be originally a trait of fairies and similar creatures, not of the actual, original elves from German mythology.

You might be right. Pointy-eared fairies predate Tolkien, so that might be where he borrowed the pointy ears for his elves from.

I actually quite like Ferelden, but hope our party and advisors are a diverse mix from all corners of Thedas.
I'd guess she'd be from whatever major city plays a significant role in the plot. Otherwise her underworld connections wouldn't be very significant.
edit: It's not especially clear that Tolkien's elves had pointed ears. There is an obscure mention of them being more pointed and leaf-shaped buried in his notes, but it clearly wasn't regarded by Tolkien as an important way of distinguishing them

I haven't seen that anywhere. My only plan is that I either romance her or Cullen as my female elven mage if I can. Mostly because she seems more interesting. (Though she does have physical traits I find attractive personally like blonde hair and a lithe body, cuz elf)
If I can't romance her with my first character (if she's not into girls, or other elves... ahem) I'll go for Cullen, simply because I like his character.
Whenever I see this pic I always think if a CAPTION THIS contest. Judging by what she is doing/showing/telling and the reactions of those at the table I can come up with a pretty good one. But I really doubt I'd be allowed to post it.

Yeah, I know. I was just hoping for her to have longer hair as it differentiate her from Leliana or Merrill.
