No, I wouldn't read it like that. I'd read it as Cass is straight, except for Sera. That does happen! 

 

...I don't actually actively want this in the game or anything, just trying to find a way where I felt more uncomfortable with it, haha.

Same goes for gay folk, many are still happy to practice their faith irregardless of the Church's view on homosexuality. Also with the new Pope his outlook is much more tolerant and open to this community. More so than his predecessors.
