From the looks of the description it seems the leaping shot is the hail of arrows ability.

Since I plan to roll an archer.

 

I had plans to play as an archer myself but since Sera will be a permanent fixture in my party I had to switch back to my duel weapon rogue. Sera specializes in archery so I didn't see the point of it, didn't want to give her blades, she's more suited to a bow.

I love his banter so I will squeeze him in now and again if I can, it will make for harder battles tho, 3 rogues, maker help us!

Think you have to be pragmatic. I'm going 2h on my first playthrough so no Iron Bull for me. I'll have Cass because *swoon* so probably no Blackwall.
2 front line fighters so probably no Cole and mage I'll probably take Viv because I'm pretty Chantry based, so no Dorian.

2nd pt though, Sera and Kossith mage so I'll take Blackwall and Bull then. Oh yes.

I'd actually try to squeeze Cole in maybe a bit more often than Varric, as I honestly think we saw enough of him in DA2.

 

Cassandra might be the warrior I use most often... and I prefer to bring a second mage, and might just cycle through all of them.
