You like big boats, you cannot lie.
Motorboats, that is.

Tsk..and here , I was gonna lend you the Pirate Boat with the hat and peg leg !
How dissapointing !
I like Izzy and Merril.
Isabella has a special place in my heart, though. ![]()
I like Merrill but it does feel awkward at times, she's so naive and innocent, a little too much on further playthroughs. Her social awkwardness can be endearing at times but as a romance option to import into the Keep, erm I'm gonna go back to Izzy.
See for me, I see that naivety and innocence as cute. I mean I like Isabela but I feel she's too non-committal for me, like Zevran without the cheesy jokes.
I have no problem with social awkwardness so long as the people involved are well-intentioned.
I do like Merrill, she is a cutey, and she did try to do right by her clan but got mixed up in things she couldn't control. Well intentioned but foolish aye.
I love Isabela and her free spirit
. I like Merrill but more as a good friend.

Awww...Bela!! Where did you get that ?!?! cose that is awesome !

I cannot honestly call her foolish. It was Marethari's malevolence and her clan's stupidity that she was caught up in.
My Hawke found a kindred spirit in Isabela, my Hawke was just as promiscuous as Isabela (only with Women though since my Hawke is a lesbian) and my Hawke hid things with humor since in my head canon both Bethany and Carver die and Hawke also loses her mother so she hides her pain and everything else behind humor similiar to Isabela, my Hawke isn't selfish like Bela but Bela becomes unselfish because she falls in love with Hawke. My Hawke was to rough for Merril so they are just good friends/sisters
Oh nooooooooooooooo, both Beth and Carver? DDDD: Well, i liked Beth more than Carver, she was my Hawke's fav little sister. I loved snarky Hawke teasing her. ![]()
Apologies. I might be hypersensitive to people seemingly looking down on Merrill. Sometimes it feels as though I have to be on edge to defend her constantly.
No apologies needed, i personally don't consider Merrill 'vulnerable' in any way due to her cutesy. She was hilarious and... boy did she liked the "dirty stories".
Ah Merrill.
Though i'll admit i did a custom Hawke who romanced her, but I liked Izzy's romance more because I usually go for these types of women (not the 'promiscuous bisexual' part but her sense of humor and honesty)
The fact that Sera has a great sense of humor according to devs, makes me even more excited to meet her.
You like big boats, you cannot lie.
Izzy and big boats.
Hmm.

DAT LINE THO
DAT LINE THO
Ehh... my Hawke doesn't want to run away. She wants to stick around to see the war through.

Once you finish the game with Izzy as romance, you'll realize she's very commited to Hawke, at the end. ![]()

She meant after everything is resolved. I'd like to believe she and Izzy left with their big boat. ![]()
DAT LINE THO
That line gets me everytime.
Hopefully Isabela will show up in DAI
Thanxthanxthanxthanx! I would go LIKE but...dont have any left sowwy .

lol well my head canon Hawke is a mage so Beth died at the start and I have never liked Carver so yeah, but I wanted Hawke to have a tragic life as far as her family goes, that explains why she cracks so many jokes to deal with it
you'll realize she's very commited to Hawke, at the end.
In the DLC with Tallis......'I have...Hawke'.....man....that was like swoone moment there .
(and no didn't flirt with Tallis and Took Aveline..best bud)
Once you finish the game with Izzy as romance, you'll realize she's very commited to Hawke, at the end.
True, but it's too many years of her flighty-ness for me, personally. I basically always end the relationship when she abandons the party in DA2, and in my head canon it's more longer than the span of hours.
What do you find attractive, then, that Merrill lacks?
I don't believe that she was written to be unintelligent, but I do feel like she was created as a naive ingenue, and a lot of her dialogue seems to be written with the idea of making the player character protective of her. I wouldn't hold that against someone in real life, but as a fictional character, I feel like she was made for male player characters, and yeah, that's not something I would want in a f/f romance in a game. I feel the same way about certain female characters in movies, tv, and books, so it's not just Merrill. Isabela may be walking around with no pants to cater to the (straight) male gaze, but I was able to flirt with her without feeling like I was trying to take advantage of a young woman who only needed a friend (which is how I felt about the first flirt with Merrill when you bring her to the alienage).
It's really not an attack on Merrill, just a personality plus overthinking thing. My first crush on a female character on tv when I was a little kid was Erica Kane on All My Children, and I went on to adore other "diva", "femme fatale", and/or "bad girl" types of fictional women. Isabela falls closer to that, as an f/f romance, than any other Bioware romance so far, and I realize it's basically just luck that we even got that once.

The end of Kirkwall isn't the resolution of everything. I want to join the mage/templar war.
Also, to get the boat, you have to let Castillon go, and I'm unwilling to do so.
If she is half as "wildcard" as Rafi from The League, I will like her very much.
I don't think Rafi would be allowed in a video game. For some reason, having a guy sneak into bed with you every time you go to the in to get a little rapey tends to set the Moral Guardians off. Wierdos.
In regards to the Knight Enchanter, I alwas assumed you'd summon flying blades like Fable as opposed to summoning a single Lightsaber type thing.
Also, we don't know enough about Sera to know whether she fits the made scientist type that is the Tempest. I'm kinda hoping she is now. She is the wildcard after all.

If it helps, I'd have romanced Velanna for many of the same reasons as I do Merrill, had Velanna been in the game. Merrill's naivete isn't what draws me.

I did try both, killing and letting Castillion go in two playthroughs.
I do wonder though how it is to rivalmance Izzy.
Also Vellana, damn...
and Sigrun.
I'm so gay, I like all the ladies.
Hum you sure ? She always get the boat , it is the paper she planned to use that she complain become useless (unless you bring Aveline) which she give them to her . Didnt see anywhere where she doesn't have a boat....
