Its hard for me to play as a male character now and I'm a guy! lol. I was actually stalking the Dragon Age twitter page when Cass popped up, needless to say I was surprised to look one second and nothing new was up and then look again to see Cass lol
I've completely given up on playing male, just don't want to go there. It's Sera and Josie for me.
I found playing as a male in DA2 incredibly dull, but that must have been the character himself. I don't know why I just couldn't stand it. Playing as Marian Hawke was much, much more interesting.

Mostly , the voice actor will have a giant impact on my game . Maleshep for exemple...was soo dull . Then again , by the time I decided to try him , I was already lost in love with femshep voice . So his came out...as if he was a Tranquil .
Then there is the issue , that I can't make a manly man to save my life I'm told in MMO , that my ladies range from smoking hot to incredibly Butch . And when my Males for the few rare attent I tried...they look 'gay' watever that mean .
So..yeah , I went and modded Morrigan , hence why she end up having a Old God baby that was half dalish lol

Then come to my house lol you can endure the voice , the face , the walk.....and I just poke at the screen for the choices in conversation (accident may occure , as being shoved from the chair when smoochie appear..so bring protection )

I never tried a male hawke once myself, loved the default fem hawke too much, she was gorg. 
Plus in DA2 I didn't see the need to play as one, everyone was available to me if I wanted to go there. I only bother with a male when options with my preferred choice are off limits to me. SEXIST!
