well....seeing as there are only 2 elves that are companions and both like women only........lol does he not know that Sera is a lesbian?

Well seeing as he is going to play a male elf to pursue either Solas or Sera, the answer is there, elf fetish hopes will die on that playthrough.

Fanfiction helps the hurt. :P

Shep deserved an ending that made sense, such a mess, a sad sad mess.

My dream always remains as Shep, retired on a space beach somewhere, with his favourite blue space girl, Big G, and all his other pals, complete with tons of pizza and gallons of Margarita shooters.

It is a sad dream :(

I'm not a person that gets hung up on graphics. I write...if your game plot is up there, i'm not nitpicking your graphics. unless they are just outlandish glitches....in which I might meme them to death in hilarious fashion.

it's also why I am getting this on my ps3 instead of the new ps4 I was offered. I love dragon age but I need more than one game to catch my eye for "next gen" consoles.

Spoiler

I'm defo upgrading myself, I want to experience this game at it's best, how it's meant to be played. Will pick up a PS4 in November, also want to play the new Alien game at some point.

I don't have any doubts. the DA team and the ME team are two separate teams, and the DA team are way more trustworthy Mike Laidlaw is way more likable than Casey Hudson ever was and heck I enjoyed DA 2 more than I did any of the ME games

I still blame Casey Hudon for the bad ME3 ending, so don't even get me started, lol. Laidlaw thus far has proven to be a much more trustworthy director, but we'll have to wait and see for the game to be released to know for certain.

I agree although I will admit when they said that the companion approval system was removed because it seemed too gamey brought back memories of comments made about ME3.

Rogues are pretty rogue-y by the sound of it then.  They don't have stuff that helps their allies (buffs, revives, taunts to draw attention elsewhere, etc) as much as mages and warriors do.  Hmm....  And we get a bit of a look at (the Varric version of?) the Artificer tree.

And now we know that all those "big green schloops of stuff" the rogue Inquisitor keeps doing was an ability poisoning the daggers.

"We removed the final boss battle because it was too video-gamey". To this day, this sentence still doesn't make sense to me: it's a videogame, what the hell do you mean it's too "gamey"? <_<

The fact that they said something similar for the approval system in DA:I worries me.

I think with the approval... bar... thing...  they mean "gamey" as in people will "game the system" if they can easily see the approval ratings of the companions, by "pandering" to the characters they know need a boost to their rating.

Removing gift spam for one thing, good idea, cheap way to gain approval I felt.

Yeah but it is their own fault isn't ? They created a crappy system to begin with . I mean , between the Dragon Age Serie and Swtor (which has an alignement of a sort)......getting -100 mean squat . Wich in a way defeat the purpose of making a bar blue and red , good and bad , paragon and renegade .  <_<

Including gifts should require some actual attention. You should be able to talk to your companions and then potentially give them something that would matter to them, kind of like the personal gifts from DAO. Alistair's mothers locket, the Andrastes grace flowers for Leliana and the hand mirror for Morrigan all required you to actually talk to and listen to your companions when they talked about themselves before you were able to gift them and have it mean something.

Well some gifts helped you understand certain characters better like Morrigan and the grimoire, Lels and her mother's favourite flower etc so I wouldn't want them completely removed, just the spamming of em to gain approval. Hopefully we can give our companions in DAI a gift now and again, or craft them one at least.

edit: NINJA'D like a baws!

What was funny to me was that they gave us basically an unlimited number of thoughtful gifts.

Edit: with the ultimate edition

But people will find a way to "game the system" even without having a visual cue of where your friendship with a character is. Sure, maybe at first it will be difficult to determine just how much approval you have with someone, and how certain choices will affect someone's approval, but in time the mechanic will be understood and those who want to be friends with everyone (or almost everyone) will exploit stuff like doing quests in a certain way or order, and so on. Not having a visual cue won't stop people from metagaming and "pandering" to the characters that need a boost in approval.
