The best theory (although, I'm biased since this is the theory I support) is that Solas' romance will have something to do with the events of The Masked Empire (which I cannot go into more detail on because spoilers tags aren't working for me).  I don't think Bioware would give us an LI whose thing is all about how he just wants the PC for baby making.  It's far more likely that he's restricted to elves for story reasons and also happens to be straight.  There was a big discussion on this about a month ago in the Solas thread.

 

Yeah, I don't actually think it will be just about babies, though I haven't been following the discussion. Seems like it might be a factor though.

 

I assume Cullen just likes slender birds.

 

 

I use a controller on PC too, whenever I can. It just feels more comfortable, I dunno.

Actually Solas being restricted and not Sera makes kinda of sense, mostly because she already has a restriction, males.

After reading some of the information about Solas I still think he will have a hypocrite side, he does not like to be seen as elven but somehow he like only elves? The best explanations is the baby thing. Otherwise it makes no sense.

Hello everyone. I just thought I'd stop by here as I've pretty much decided that my first DAI character will be a female in order to have romance Sera. Despite being a straight man I actively preferred female Hawke because of the VA and in terms of ME I liked both male and female Shepards roughly equally. I've never had a problem playing as a female character.

Anyway from the information/snatches of party banter we have so far Sera seems like the most initially appealing character to me. I'm enjoying her irreverent anti-establishment attitude and of course it does no harm that she's super-cute. Female quizzy it is, then! Still not sure of the race, though...

 

By the way I am a Pisces too, and I also <insert Barnum statement here>.

Might also be that the romance start all incidental-like (after you've expressed interest ofc), and it's a scenario that's elf-specific, like maybe he asks to learn more avout the dalish or something. Many possibilities out there that doesn't involve children imo.

God yes, male Hawke sounded terrible.

This game's got too many awesome characters. Could be a while before I romance Sera (third playthrough, maybe).
Be with another elven archer or a Qunari dual wielder. I'll decide later.

Of course the other advantage to playing as a female (especially if I choose Elf) is that it gives me more options...

Sera is part of the core six romaces, and Solace and Cullen are the bonus tracks. Sera is equivelant to Dorian and the Straights.

I am leaning that way. My first DA:O playthrough was a male elf, and I do like them a lot. I wasn't keen on the weird "no footwear" thing in DA2 but it seems that they've done away with that this time, so it's all good.

I just didn't really enjoy the delivery.
