yeah Orzammar takes forEVER. I promise I am now finishing the Fade really fast now that I know where to go...I know where the Deep Roads lead and it still takes me at least 2 hours to get it all done.

its because its supposed to be last, I think I read the most player friendly order is Broken Circle, Arl of Redcliffe, Nature of the Beast, Urn of Sacred Ashes and then Paragon of Her Kind which is the order I always go

I always do Orzammar last but I do go there early in the game to advance Sten's sword quest. I do the circle first then Redcliff, Asdrasta's ashes, elf, and finally Orzammar. I never vary from this order, I guess I never realized how boring I am until I just wrote this.

 

I also may or may not have went to Orzammar earlier than expected to get a nug for Lels.

I think Laidlaw said something non-commital in the livestream about being aware of Qunari hair and looking into it for DLC, future games, hypothetical things, or I remember that happening at least.

While we're at it, I do have to say that sometimes the order in which companions can be recruited has a negative impact on the amount of content associated with them. The best example I can think of right now is Legion in ME2. By the time you recruit him (or it), you are literally only a mission away from the big finale. That meant missing out on a LOT of dialogue and content related to his character, most of which was highly interesting and even informative.

 

That kind of thing is why I generally don't like it when companions are acquired super late in a game, since it's often inevitable that something will be missing as a result of this shafting.

I have a hard time re-speccing companions in general because my mind's eye always sees them the way they're "supposed" to be (TH Sten, archer Leli, etc.) But I also wanna play a female elven archer. Decisions.

This was an absolute chore, it was so dark and bleak and of top of that, the was giant spiders, Orzammar is the main reason I only did one playthrough of Origins, I attemped a second one going straight to Brecilian, to preach the SPEW doctrine get Arcane warrior ASAP, but then I remember what was to come, and didn't pick it up since, probably will never.
