I'm not taking this as fact, but as fun food for thought.   It seems like the name Cassandra is linked to royalty and prophecy, and our Cassandra is of royal blood.  It makes me very curious about her place in Inquisition.

 

Getting back to the topic, I noticed that the word "sera" without accent) in Italian means "evening," while "notte" is for "night" which would fit a thief.   If you think of it as a noun and not a proper name, it works.  Almost something I could see her choosing for herself, but I know I'm reaching here.

Well, the one agreement about 'Cassandra' appears to be that it's a multi-national baby name. So I will just call her 'Baby.' And nobody will put her in the corner at the Orlesian Ball.

 

As for Sera, I'm pretty sure that is just short for 'Seradorable.'

I mean she probably is, what with being an elf and a rogue.

When every past elf follower, and rogue follower (save Varric) were LI.

 

If she is not that would be downright hilarious to see, since it would be subverting a lot of expectations.
