Like booty said (dat username doe) it would be weird if the others have some big titles and such and Sera is just a simple criminal who just happened to find inquisitor.

I agree. The only ones who don't have Big titles are Colas and Sole, who are howewer very unique for their background and abilities. Plus, I think Solas will be a Sort of mentor for the PC.

I think it might be in the Exalted Plains due to that cutscene shown at E3. Though it might as well be part of her personal quest later on.

Which "greater good" actions would be specifically hated by Sera, do you think? Aside from abandoning Crestwood, perhaps.

Blood magic rituals, if a sacrifice is needed.

Sera doesn't like the idea of the 'greater good' in general from what I've heard. She sees the people suffering here and now and wants to help them here and now. In a sense she's a more short sighted character, but at the same time she'll be there to remind us exactly what price we are paying in the name of the 'greater good'.

It will make for much twisting of the knife, I'm sure.

I wish it was less vague, but I suppose that might lead to spoilers. Of course, it might not matter, because it's extremely rare for mage/elf supporters to actually be able to undertake morally dubious actions in those names.

Depends on how the elves/Dalish clan we'll meet will act. I doubt Sera is a fan of clan who will take the action and the mindset of the
Spoiler

She'll be fine, I think, with a clan like the Lavellan one, based on what it was states about the Keeper.

I'm kind of thinking the same which worries me a little, I tend to play as a character that tries to do the right thing but will my character be influenced by Sera's disapproval. When one of the devs talked about having trouble getting Sera to like their character it kind of worried me but as far as I know they could have been playing male. :)

We've had a fair few warnings that it would be difficult to make everyone happy this time around. I don't think one's gender would influence Sera's like or dislike except in intimate matters. The character dynamics seem fairly complex, but I wonder how well they pulled it off. Oh well, 5 weeks to go.

I think in general the romances became more complicated, which is good sign.

I like that too. The worst 'romances' I've ever seen were in Fable. Why exactly would I bother with any of those people? I wanted to marry Briar Rose in the first game.

Sera won't be trusting the Inquisitor easily--that much I'm certain of.

I suspect that, in a way, we'll need to work towards gaining some characters' trust. How that works is anyone's guess at this point. I think Sera might be a little bit high maintenance, though. But once you have won her heart, there's no getting rid of her.

OMG, fable romances were atrocious. It's been along time and I'm terrible about remembering names but who was Briar Rose. The one character I wanted to marry was the grown up little girl that the hero helped as a boy.

I don't think any, or very few, of the characters will trust the Inquisitor easily. Almost all of them have betrayal or disillusionment of some kind in their past.

Cassandra: The plot of Dawn of the Seeker details it. Then the situation in Kirkwall.

Blackwall: Something made him leave the Wardens.

Dorian: He's sick of the way his countrymen behave.

Iron Bull: Torn between two lives.

Leliana: Marjolaine and the situation in Kirkwall.

Cullen: The demon invasion in Origins, Meredith's madness and the mage-templar war.

Varric: He saw his hometown go to hell.

Cole: Well, he's all kinds of special, that one.

Solas, Vivienne, Josephine and Sera are the only ones I see as not having experienced that, but then we know little about them at this point.

You're thinking about Whisper. Briar Rose was that lady in red with glasses. In the Lost Chapters we joined her on a couple of quests. She was the Hero's Guild resident bookworm.

This is her:

I don't know... I'd say the fact that so many mages escaped made it worth it.

That's a pretty good outline.

I'd be surprised if Sera didn't have some kind of troubled past. While she doesn't strike me as the kind of person who has been through so much, she must have experienced something that made her into who she is. This has generally been the case with most major characters in the series, and Sera is probably no exception.

Pure speculation, but here goes:

Sera is 'happy go lucky' type. She is a thief who doesn't look to hurt people but at the same time she lives in the moment. She doesn't really see long term consequences nor can she plan for them. I think her 'wake up call' is actually going to be the events of the game. The devs said she joins because she wants her playground back. We saw how freaked out she gets over facing demons, abominations and blood mages. That's a huge change of level for her. She just got thrown from the kiddie pool into the ocean and she's scared. She might be the least mature of the companions to start with and she'll have some growing up to do.

That's my take on it with the info we have so far. We'll see how right or wrong I am. The suspense is killing me!

Also a good assessment!

She is trying to find herself. It really shows on what little we've seen of her. A lot of what she's going to go through in-game will likely be a first for her, and I think that makes her super interesting.

I'll have urges to hug her everytime she's afraid and tell her "everything will be fine"

Sort of. I'm happy for the people that escaped, and sad forthe People that died and what happened to the city...even if if isn't a great place.
