I really liked it. So I would recommended it. At least if you are interested in the subject matter. Elves and Orlais.

Alright thanks for the replies guys. For Orlais reasons I think I need to buy this book, need to know the politics a bit better.

I realize this is OT, but when I was watching Legend of Korra the other day, I ended up thinking back to the last time I discussed it in this thread. It may not have always been the case, but seeing Season 4 now, I kinda get the sense that Korra and Asami have ended up "graduating" from unintentional subtext to intentional subtext.

 

Either that or having spent as much time around shippers in general as I have in the last few years and learning about shipper goggles, I can't turn it off anymore.

went lurking in the feedback and suggestions thread and somebody said Viv was ugly...you should have heard the kill bill music playing in the background ironically on that part when she heara that stupid ringtone on that woman's phone...whoo I could rant but this ain't the place!

*note to self* stay away from that area of forum. side effects include dizziness, nausea, uncontrollable angst, and impulsive need to break things.

well... they voice actress did say that she ships korrasami

 

but I'm just happy that korra is not with mako.  ugh... hated that pairing.

Speaking of voices, are you guys going with Alix or Sumalee?

 

I'm going with Sumalee, rather have her for my aggressive Inquisy plus don't really like the idea of having a British accent as a Dalish.

Probably the one that fits my character's face best.  

 

I think the British accent for a Dalish is a bit weird but I can give her a backstory where she's from somewhere like Tevinter and ran away to join the Dalish.  Tevinter city elves totally have British accents (Fenris).

Yeah it does seem like a "fan reaction" type of addition to the show. I'd still be absolutely shocked if they pulled the trigger on it. Then again, I feel like I've seen a lot of shocking things I would have expected to see on TV in the past year or so.

I'm leaning towards Sumalee. Mainly because it would allow me to recreate an Origins Dalish and although it seems like all elves now have English accents, I'm still kind of in the frame of mind that in Dragon Age, humans and elves sound different. Although also because I'm becoming more of a fan of her work lately. She plays more characters than I realized. Although I'm not 100% sure if she will end up looking like she fits the frame of an elf since she appears to be going really low with her voice here.
