Yep. Always assume the worst. That way you are never disappointed.
At this point it is far safer to just wait then to start thinking of what they may be.
There will be much:
When the game comes out if people build to much up.

Oh, that will happen regardless. It's too late to stop that now.
It's like we're all just sitting around, waiting for Bioware to send us through the Omega 4 Relay. Not everyone is going to make it back unscathed, but that's inevitable.

thats the nice way of putting it.... i prefer pessimism in general, yeah we are depressing, but at least we all arent the tim tebows of the world running around being happy in everyones face
In happier news... Sera is still lovely as ever.
A part of me hopes companions can train the PC in various combat styles. Sera can teach me better form with the bow.
Any excuse to spend more time with her.
Oh, she can train me with the arts of the bow anytime. ![]()
I'll be the arrow that she needs.
I'm sure she's all a quiver with anticipation lol.
Oooh touché!
What if Sera does some puns in the game? ![]()

I hope she's as fun and cocky as she seems. I want another jack or Isabela.
And I'd really like to mix it up with Varric for a ranged archer. I don't want him around as much as DA2 (he was practically a mainstay then).
@ Sequin, that's actually brilliant. I never thought of it that way.
I wonder if we'll ever see her and Lelianna shooting arrows together in the Keep? Keeping their skills sharp, trading tips, that sort of thing?

Inquisitor: Andraste's flaming knickers, there are demons everywhere! How did we not notice the Veil tearing anew here!?
Varric: *huffs and reloads Bianca* I think we have our recently met, sadly deceased, secretly magical companion to thank for that.
Dorian: *dramatic slamming of staff to the ground* Damn that sly bastard! I should have struck him down the second he started making his speech about the coming storm of the Maker's judgement!
Sera: *straight face* Well, that was a serious Breach of trust on his part.
Varric: ...
Dorian: ...
Quizzy: ... *exasperated sigh* Really, Sera? Now?
Sera: *grins* Hey, don't Veil your enthusiasm just to spite me. I know you love it.
Varric: *groans*
Dorian: *dramatic facepalm* Oh, Flames, make it stop!
Quizzy: *shakes head* Sera. Less wordplay, more... arrowing things. Please.
Sera: *chuckles and readies for a shot* Hey, don't nock it 'til you...
Dorian: *actually screams* I WILL FREEZE YOUR MOUTH SHUT.
Sera: *pouts* Fine! No need to get pissy, Dorian, Maker's breath...

Is it weird if I really want to see Dorian flip the **** out on someone?
From the teensy bits we know about each character I could easily see Sera pushing his buttons.
I actually did the opposite as most people for purposes of the story in DA2. I rarely took Varric anywhere so that the story he tells Cass would inevitably be riddled with errors... since, you know, he was rarely involved in the things he's talking about.
I'll be playing a rogue in DA:I, and since I might (*fingers crossed*) be taking Sera with me most the time I doubt I will use Varric much here either. At least... not on the first run.
Thing is, most of what we see in the game would probably not have been something Varric is telling Cassandra anyway, only the major points in the story.

Thing is, the story doesn't really clash with anything he's saying, because the interrogations only really come in during certain plot points, and even if he doesn't come along, Cassandra and he will speak on it exactly as the event goes down from Hawke's perspective, so Varric is either told by Hawke directly, or news simply travels fast in Kirkwall. Of course, there's also the issue of Varric's story being significantly shorter than what we see of Hawke's adventures, unless Cassandra actually sat there questioning him for more than 24 hours.
I always took it that his stories elsewhere are the real falsehoods. The ones you hear in bars and such. Not necessarily with Cassandra. Like his fantasized version of Hawke is the one he tells most people. The blood smeared spiky armor person you see in the intro. Who always rips the arms off of Ogres (even if you don't play a mage, he still tells people you ripped off the arms of an ogre).
And the game does kind of make a distinction between the basic story and his wild exaggerations. I definitely loved his lone wolf raid on Bartrand's house.
