@Eirene, thanks for explaining all that. And people roleplay such characters happily, ugh my faith in humanity has taken another knock.
*knock it back up* Hopefully Bioware will do better with this game ! So hold the Line !

So Solas or Sera first?
I'm judging you btw.
I think I'm going to be crazy and try to romance both of them with different Inquisitor playthroughs at the same time. I'm up for the challenge
. But I will say I'm more hyped for Solas because there's been more tidbits about him and unfortunately there hasn't been as much info about Sera yet. But when I actually get the game all bets are off.
Especially if you're playing a neutral sith. *grumbles*
And no perks for being grey ![]()
But when I actually get the game all bets are off.
Go for Sera ! Go for Sera!! ![]()
And no perks for being grey
Not even freaking relics til lvl 50. Now that was some nonsense. Least the events added neutral relics now *grumbles*
The soundtrack of the 1st was better . But AOE2 had better unit and gameplay system . Like make them patrol...I liked that .
Was a fun game....and good for its time
Don't say it like that, you're making me feel old, lol. ![]()
To be fair, if I would play the game without any knowledge, I would've expected the Empire-related paths to have...Not very nice options. You could always stick to the Republic paths.Thank you, Eirene, for going so in depth with that response. i'll bet that's a snippet of the experience but you definitely summed it up nicely to give me the gist.
Thank you Alexia and Milan for responding. I understand better now. Still disturbed by what is in that game and fortunately, never had the inclination to play it.
Jaysus, what's with all the TOR whatever talking? ![]()
Don't say it like that, you're making me feel old, lol.
It was the 1st game I saw on PC . I remember my brother was showing me how to build a long wall . So if you recall..you drag it and make a long wall and the worker will do them one by one . I remember saying 'Omg poor thing ! thats slavery ! He gonna be so tired!' ...and my brother...just stared at me..................like I was brain dead
Jaysus, what's with all the TOR whatever talking?

Why do you call it TOR ? I always though it was SWTOR .
Sera will be revealed to have Force-related powers
.
Yeah..she will shoot pebbles at ya ! and wiggle her eyebrow when said abilitie is activated
Why do you call it TOR ? I always though it was SWTOR .
It's either or, Most people just go by TOR The Old Republic
Crim, trust me. Its not as bad as people make it out to be.
It's mostly about fraternization really and the SW is a very domineering figure. But no the romances all clearly consent to the romance. (Hell you have several chances to even flat out ask "If you actually aren't okay with this say so and I'll back off." and immediately Quinn goes "no I'm fine with it don't back off. But..." So I just...wat. The worst it gets is really inappropriate flirting and sexual harassment for femwarrior and Quinn (which he rather admirably deflects for the most part). But rape? no.
Jaesa is the only one that made me a bit "wait wut?"
And the SI doesn't even have any wait wut? (Other than again the machoism with them being perfectly fine with ignoring you shocking the **** out of them when you met them but that's just basic amnesia (similar to DAO) since you bribed them with gifts apparently).
The SW part is often skipped. As for KOTOR, which should theorically be SWKOTOR.Why do you call it TOR ? I always though it was SWTOR .

Correct. The plotlines I'm talking about are a small subset of the available ones for romances. The problems I highlighted are mostly with two specific classes, which can be played in other ways; the game has eight classes in total, with loads of other NPC fish in the sea. Other romances are actually quite well-written and not squicky at all.
And the game does have non-romance plotlines that rank with the best storytelling in Dragon Age and Mass Effect; in particular, the Imperial Agent's Act II class questline is spectacular, a true espionage thriller with tons of reactivity. (The Agent's head writer was Alexander Freed, who also worked with David Gaider on the Alistair/Isabela/Varric Dragon Age comics, The Silent Grove, Those Who Speak, and Until We Sleep. They're worth a look, too.)
The gameplay mechanics are fun, the outfits and gear are neat, the scenery is beautiful, and I'd happily recommend the game to anybody with interest in BioWare storytelling or the Star Wars setting. I got two solid years of enjoyment out of the game as a subscriber.
But yeah. SERA. Whose relationship will be nothing like dark-side Sith romances.
Hum...wut about Corso...and BH class? Did you try them ?
Sorrrrry to jump in out of nowhere but I can't help it
. Vette won't talk to the PC if she/he doesn't remove the shock collar. So all this nonsense about raping a slave isn't correct. DS Jaesa is crazy and she loves to have sex with anyone... so it's not rape either.
"Disturbingly, she may offer to be a male Warrior's baby-factory-without-a-romantic-relationship, because the Warrior's bloodline needs to be continued and more good Sith need to be created or some similar garbage."
>> This concept is quite usual from the Jedi standard.
it would if I had any interest in that series in general, EK. Game or movies. I never had any...like I watched it as a kid growing up but I wasn't THAT into it. The lore and such...I know very little about it.
Had an OS teacher who built himself a lightsaber. He was a pretty cool dude.
Same...I saw one movie with harrisson ford....and a princess . And that was it
I did play Kotor 1 and 2 though and liked them better .
Why do you call it TOR ? I always though it was SWTOR .
I have no idea how it's originally called. Never played that game.

Except you flat out lied you can't romance enslaved Vette at all. It's not an option. She screams at you to take the collar off in every conversation til you do so and that's the end of it. (Hell she even gets immune to shocking the crap out of her after the third take my collar off conversation!) Though it still works in normal conversations for some reason.
You can never sleep with Vette with that shock collar on. Never. Ever. You can force her to watch you have sex yeah (which is creepy) but that's not part of her romance. Just one more tic in the douchecanoe actions that SW can take.
And I haven't once seen that forced Quinn to sleep with you bit conversation either. Either you can initiate the kiss (but by this point he already admitted to an attraction) or he can but either way the sex is consensual.
Now I can get you not liking those romances they are of a darker flavor and are somewhat twinged in the DS SW's general insanity (especially DS Jaesa). But saying Vette and Quinn (and especially Ashara and Revel's) romances are non consensual sounds like you've never even played them.
