You said "we have no urges to go that route" implying other females don't make her DS.

I simply said that they do.

Fine , I correct it then : I have no Urges to go that route . Even if Bioware tell me I can romance DS Jaessa . I saw the Vid..and wanted to puke . I rather not go that route . And I played a LS Warrior....so LS Jaessa fit well in my playtrough .

To be honest, I'm not fond of her hair. I wonder if someone can mod a Mohawk for Sera.

*don't hurt me*

*put a mohawk on ya* There...fixed

I kind of like the hair. It's rough but it says to me she just kind of went "screw it! Good enough!"

XD now why would I hurt you?

Banter to clear to the air. With Ragequisitor again.

Ragequisitor: Here. *holds out colorful box*

Sera: What's that?

Ragequisitor: It's a present.

Sera: For me?

Ragequisitor: *nod*

Sera: From you?

Ragequisitor: *eyebrow twitch, deep breath* I am sorry for the way I treated you and I want to apologize. So I got you a present.

Sera: *stunned* It's a trick, right?

Ragequisitor: No.

Sera: It's going to blow up in my face, right?

Ragequisitor: No!

Sera: Josephine made you do it, didn't she?

Ragequisitor: *gritted teeth* No. I'm doing this on my own. She did pick the gift though.

Sera: Ok then. *takes box* What is it?

Ragequisitor: Antivan liqueur chocolates.

Sera: Liquor? *pops a chocolate* Woah!

Ragequisitor: Right. Enjoy.

Sera: Candy and booze in one. Those Antivans know how to live it up!

Ragequisitor: *muttering* They'd better know how to clean it up with the way you're scarfing those things down

Cat, did CatQuisitor ( :P ) just poison Sera?

Admit it, you hate the poor elf!

I'm not really into her hair, either. Kinda like how I wasn't into Leliana's Origins face, or Isabela's piercing, or Liara's freckles.

Voice and personality are more important to me. If there's something I don't like about a character's features, I just learn to deal, or work around it, because changing those features feels dishonest and a mutation of the way the character was designed. Not as bad as a whitewash, but still...unsettling.

The only exception I make to this is Leliana's face, which looks nothing like the art or trailers from pre-launch, and which, I am convinced, is purely an art screwup. The nose...and the sunken eyes...and the potato face...aaaaagh.

Sera's hair is kinda gross, yeah, but it's also supposed to tie into her personality, and I'm totally okay with that.

Worse when it's about armor  (I actually like Sera's outfit a lot).

Thx for the tip though :P

I wonder what Sera's tempest skillset looks like...

They look like potions that give her some elemental damage boost or some such.... You can see them on the bar in the one gameplay trailer.

No, but Sera will find out that mixing chocolate with strong drink is a bad idea. Hangover from hell! (because she's gonna eat the whole box in one sitting the silly girl).

I believe Leliana is some Orlesian noble's bastard daughter, so she is clearly Leliana Snow. :S

Leliana is definitely an Orlesian's daughter. It is easy to miss, but there is one dialogue choice that leads to her briefly mentioning her father. We don't really get any details on him however beyond the fact that he was from Orlais. Considering the timeline as well, and the fact that Leliana's mother was Fereldan, it's probably safe to assaume that Leliana's father was connected to the Orlesian occupation of Ferelden in some way.

But was he a noble or a knight? Or a peasant levy or mercenary in military service to an Orlesian noble? There is also the possibility that he could have been part of a noble's household staff (cook, smith, stableboy, ect), or a civilian camp follower (like a merchant, for instance) who set off to Ferelden looking to gain financially from the occupation/war.

Or maybe he was a travelling musician.  B)

Surnames are extremely uncommon for much of the historical early medieval period; when they do start to pop up, they are indicative of unusual prosperity for a given family - prosperity that is bequeathed, inherited, and which has a positive-feedback relationship with influence. Prosopographers track recorded surnames, and they line up reasonably closely with economic prosperity even if it's not exactly one-to-one. And by and large, Dragon Age's setting appears to have been crafted with that in mind.

Good post.

Just to add to that...while hereditary surnames were originally a mark of being from an aristorcratic family, by the late middle ages with a greater degree of urbanization (and people moving away from villages where everyone knew them) you start to see surnames become common for the lower classes as well. As far as surnames go Thedas seems to be somewhere between the early and late middle ages, since we see a mix of noble and common characters with surnames, and others without.

On a more serious note, I'm fine with modding the appearance of characters as long as it fits their personality. And wouldn't a mohawk fit Sera (sorry, I've got a one track mind lol)

I'll probably shove her in my party eventually. Maybe when I'm playing a warrior.

Hm...lady human mage (or maybe warrior?) Cassandra as tank with Sera as archer and Mage barrier spam Vivienne. That could work well.

I like Sera, but I'll have to wait till I get the game to see if I want to romance her ( sorry, Josephine and the Bull seem nice too) I usually play as male protagonists in my DA canon playthough because I like to look at a handsome dude when I play games lol. But I consider playing a female one this time for the sake of being able to romance Sera.

People who live in glass houses and all that; I'd probably make a snide comment about Sera's accent, but apparently my English is a bizarre love-it-or-loathe-it German-accented form of New Orleans Yat.

So Cat...I have a theory about your Ragequisitor and Sera that I'm just putting together as I type

Big sister type deal? It seems that way...like I annoyed my big sisters a great deal but they love me and will still wreck a town behind me. kinda like that?

Well mine is Irish, although mild to my ears, people seem to like it I dunno. People are weird I guess.
