At the expense of sounding incredibly shallow I can not stand her hair. I understand they're going for a tomboy look but they could cut it even shorter and she would look better ... that bang length is so unflattering

i came here to comment on the new image and quote, as I really liked it and it made me very interested to find out more about her! That's when I saw the below:

Like I said, this quote really strengthens my theory that Sera's character was at least partly influenced by Seras Victoria.

It sounds okay, but I still can't help but think how much of a Mary/Marty Sue that Sera sounds like. Again, it's probably just my opinion, but I dunno. She's probably not as bad as I think, but that specific combination of traits in a protagonist or deuteragonist is usually the sign of Sue-ness. Or stereotypical, at the very least.

That's not always the case. Even if it was, you can't write it off on the excuse of "Every RPG companion is a Mary/Marty Sue, so we can make Sera one too".
It's actually not confirmed at all. What it's confirmed is that they won't release a toolset, and that modding will be a lot harder. We have no clue if people will be able to mod the game in some ways.It has already been confirmed modding won't be possible this time around.

In Dragon Age it is. All of them can single-handedly take out something that in lore can wipe out dozens of trained warriors, like Abominations.
I like her hair. She has a bit of a punk vibe about her. It fits.

Yeah, that's called companion armor or plot armor. One Abomination can't kill them all, because then there'd be no point to companions. But that doesn't instantly make them stereotypical/Sue characters.
