On topic: "Sera" seems like she would be a younger member of the cast. This is all just ballpark guesses, based on EU and in game lore. The devs are notoriously cagey when it comes to companion ages. This my idea as of 9:40 Dragon.
"Hot Daddy" Grey Warden--He seems to be the oldest so far. Mid 40s or so.
Varric--My guess is early 40s at this point.
Cassandra--Most lore hounds put her at about mid to late 30s
"Cullen"--early to mid 30s.
Iron Bull--Late 20s to early 30s, but it's tough for me to guess a Qunari's age
Vivienne--mid to late 30s, due to her status as a former First Enchanter.
Solas--Hard to tell. Around 30, maybe?
One thing I really loved about Vette was the fact that she wasn't too emotional and understood the concept of cooperation while disagreeing on some things and putting the ''relationship'' above it. I want more companions like that.
You know all this actually probably points towards the fact that Inquisitor won't be a ''kid'' this time around.

Definitely a fairly young adult, early or mid 20s. I think it's a reason I'm drawn to her. While I'm actually glad the cast is older in this game since it seems more appropriate, I'd also like a couple of younger companions as well.
Also chiming in with the Vette love, that was mah girl.

And thank the gods for that. I really don't mind playing younger PCs. If it bothered me, I wouldn't love a lot of the JRPGs that I do. It's going to be a nice change to design my character as young or as old as I want and not get called a kid.
Hmm, it almost looks like this entire cast is going to be around 32-37 years old as the average. Again, this is solely based on ideas and speculations I've had so far. I'm not trying to say these theories have any basis in solid fact.
Based on what we know of Sera via the survey, I feel like we could have a field day with banter between her and Vivienne.
I swear, every single companion sounds like they could give us some seriously awesome and hilarious banter.
Given that my age group seems to be the age group the player characters generally are assumed to be, its going to be interesting playing an older character. If that's what ends up happening I'm looking forward to it.

Anyway, on the topic of Sera and party make up, I could see her replacing Varric in my line up if she's done well. Then again I could just as easily see her warming the bench along with Viveinne and Solas.
I wasn't referring to a badly written character, and people hating them because of it. That was a whole different animal. I was talking among the ones that were very fleshed out and generally considered well written. As an example, Morrigan was disliked so much that the "Slap Morrigan" mod came into being. It says a lot that folks felt that strongly about her.
Considering the line is: "Bad Morrigan!" and she gains approval from being struck that mod might have uh... "other purposes"

Agreed. That might have been an initial concept for Sera. IIRC, she also fired some weird lyrium blue arrows. Maybe part of this Sera was transplanted to Fenris.

As someone playing a rogue myself, I really want to possibly do a 3 rogue party. I'm not sure about a tank or mage for flavor, but that depends upon the personalities we don't know about yet.
