So..that mean you enjoy the confusion ? Tsk....

Why don't you just use the word lesbian?

actually it means lily as in the flower lilies, its just used as a genre. the genre is also called shoujo or girls love...yeah im a nerd
Why don't you just use the word lesbian?
because saying i'm a yuri fan sounds better than calling myself a lesbian fan..that makes me sound like a perv
, plus Yuri is a literature genre in Japan just like Fantasy or Romance, or Rock is a genre of music so of course I'm going to say I'm a yuri fan since its a genre
Why don't you just use the word lesbian?
Yuri comes with it's own tropes that aren't necessarily covered as well by lesbian. Yuri is mainly designed for male viewers so it usually involves feminine women whereas lesbian includes all sorts of women.

I think being a fan of a sexuality (whether you dress it up as a "genre" or not) is kind of strange, regardless of what language you use.

If that's the case, I probably wouldn't use "yuri" to describe Sera.

i have to disagree to the whole "designed for males" thing. porn sure but actual yuri absolutely not

I'll admit, it can be amusing at times.

I agree my girlfriend also enjoys yuri so its not just for males
EEeeeeek!!!! RUN! RUN!
But thats scaaaaaaaary!!! Sure I love a women who can kick ass...but the she-hulk-smash......eek! thats scary ! lol You just killed my Libido !
I'll admit, it can be amusing at times.
Thats how I met a friend actually , been drooling over DAI since together .

also most of them are written by women. there was this nice little manga where the author went out with other yuri writers to a strip club which they did irl.
Oh no, I am a good she-hulk, I was just smashing....the patriarchy? Yeah, that. XD
I will only smash enemies of the Sera thread, and since we are wonderful and thus have no enemies, I'll just sit around and leer, like a classy lady.
Ohhh well thats different then ! YAY!
We got our own Sera bodyguard.....Leer away... ![]()

Hard to say until we get into the actual content, I don't doubt that Sera appeals to tons of lesbian women myself included I'm just wondering who they subconsciously imagine is viewing the content, men like in the case of Traynor, or women.

I'm not the most familiar with it, but I've not met any women who like Yuri, I've met a lot of men, a lot of women who like Yaoi but even among the gay, bi, pan and everywhere inbetween women I don't see a lot of Yuri fans. But, it's very possibly just me.

Milk Morinaga being one of the best female yuri authors

Sure, she just doesn't strike me as an "Am I kawaii, Inquisitor-kun~~?" type of character as of yet.

Just cause we are using a Japanese genre doesn't mean she is going to act all anime like, plus Kun is mostly used for referring to someone younger or inferior to you males referring to inferior females or referring to males, Inquisitor-chan would be more fitting since Chan is usually used for females or younger children.

why wasnt "girlfriends" a anime
?!
