I think it COULD be her. The scenery isn't that far off from where she is in Inquisitor and Companions.

Cat, you write a helluva lot longer than I do (well, at least on FF.net... but the stuff I wrote years ago is better off left buried), is it common to have many views, but very (VERY) few reviews?

I keep wondering ever since I posted up the first two chapters of MFM, if it's a regular thing, or if people just hate the story so much they don't review at all.

Any feedback is pretty rare to me (though, I admit, there was this one person who gave me about 6 PMs worth of it... and for that I'm endlessly grateful, even if I'm not sure if I really managed to heed the suggestions given... I hope I did.)

Peoples tend to go advertise their fanfics . If you dont do that and wait for them..to search the subject you are writing about...then there is a chance you will wait forever . 

I recommand if you are not good at saying 'Hey I wrote this...plz review and comment!' . Then stick it in your profile/signature whenever you can . Here , on YN..Facenuke,.....and what not .

Yep! The thing with reviews is that there is a snowball effect. People often look at the number of reviews to decide if a story is worth reading, so basically, the more reviews you have, the more you'll get, if that makes sense. People see a story with zero reviews and think: oh it can't be that good and they pass it over. They see a story with a ton of reviews and they think: it must be great!

 

Some of my longer stories have very few reviews for the first chapters, but the later ones have more reviews. People are funny like that. Tip: write in chapters and update weekly. That will keep your story in the 'new' section longer and increase your traffic. The system works!

Yeah, the thing is, I'm not really lacking people viewing the story. But right now, there's about 125:1 ratio of views to reviews, which sort of... worries me?

Unfortunately, thanks to my own laziness and college (Gotta say, whenever I get past the laziness, I usually have to write some paper now... Ugh! I won't deny being lazy has nothing to do with my updates being far from each other though.) I don't really update that often. I guess if writing was the only thing I do...

I know the feeling! It's nice to feel appreciated. For me getting reviews cheers me up because it means people like what I write and it makes me feel like I'm not so strange after all. I got called a freak a lot in school. It's nice to see there are other freaks in the world.

Oh, it's from Mass Effect's universe. I was thinking about tackling some Dragon Age, but if I start another fic, I just know I won't juggle the time between two very well.

That, and I lack good ideas. I thought about venturing into the First Blight, but naaaw.

The one I'm writing though, is Quarian Marines. We know so precious little about the Migrant Fleet! And they're my favorite race.

It is Special Forces, though, because I just can't do much unless I invent a group that gets to leave the fleet every now and then.

I'd compare them to Alliance's N7, Asari Huntresses, the STG and Turian Blackwatch... but I try to keep it more or less believable, so no mad crazy run and gunning ala CoD. Saving those bits until the Reaper war, and trying to just keep stuff more... planned and prepared.
