Lightning is way better than Cloud ever was ugh I hate 7 lol and yes Lightning and Fang were the best female characters in FF ever, the subtext between them was awesome

Keith calls Lightning from FF13 fem-cloud, she is the female version of Cloud, so says Keith. Never played the older FF games, I only picked up FF13 cos Ali Hillis, yeah I'm a fangirl dun care.

sorry but 7 is so overrated, i forced myself to finish it i didn't care for the characters at all (except for Tifa and Yuffie), story was boring and the villain was a mama's boy with issues, 6 was WAY better and so was 9 and in my opinion so was the 13 trilogy.

oh man i hated the 13 trilogy. ff is supposed to be about different universes and i had to deal with lightning for a whole console generation >-<

Lightning was the one thing good about 13, we finally had a female character who was a complete badass and who was independent and didn't need to be saved or be pitied by anyone. I don't see anything between her and cloud that is similar besides them both being soldiers, cloud was to emo for my taste if anything him and squall from 8 are more of clones of each other.

Blackwall: Sera, how many times has our Inquisitor beaten that mercenary commander at arm wrestling?
Sera: Five, after she beat two of his soldiers in quick succession. Bloke's a daft pr*ck if you ask me. I mean seriously, is it that hard to admit that a woman is better than you at something? Do you get it Beardy?
Blackwall: It's a disorder that is unfortunately not as rare as it should be, it's called being an unbelievably daft f**king pr*ck.
Sera: (giggling snort)... That mercenary commander, he seems to be getting really pissed.
Blackwall: Aye.
Sera: My sweetcheeks is unarmed and without armor.
Blackwall: Aye. She wanted to appear non threatening to this meeting.
Sera: And there are a lot of his soldiers in here with him. And she just has you, me, and Bull. Who seems to be busy bench pressing some shirtless man in the corner... hmmmm.
Blackwall: You just got distracted by the thought of Adaar bench pressing you while you were both naked didn't you?
Sera: ... Maybe. Point being, if he gets too mad he and his boys will definitely outnumber us.
Blackwall: I guess it's a good thing Cassandra ordered a sizable number of our soldiers to be here tonight disguised as patrons then isn't it?
Sera: Cassie's so thoughtful isn't she?
Blackwall: That she is indeed. (the mercenary leader releases his grip, stands upright with his hand on his sword, an tense silence fills the room)
Sera: WHAT ARE YOU DAFT TWITS WAITING FOR?!!! A FORMAL INVITATION?!!! (Inquisition come to attention) That's better.
Bull: Mayhem!!! (drops the man he was engaged in, picks up a table and throws it at a group of mercenaries)
Sera: And that's our cue to save my girl! (Blackwall and Sera go charging into the melee)
