Can't really be related just cause you have the same first name, but in a grand sense they are all related since all three are tied by their fates to do something great in Thedas. Its been used in stories before where someone is named after a great hero and so they are destined to also be someone great, like I said in my RP this was Andraste's real name before she became a prophet but it was lost in time and so maybe The Maker chooses these women who are named after his bride to be important figures in the world.

I tend to just use default / random character names. Otherwise I end up making weird jokes and references.

 

For DAI, most of the names are words translated into other languages (Vapaus = liberty in finnish, Meiyo = honor in japanese...and I bunch of others I've forgotten the language I've taken it from )

 

Then there's my male Inquisitors; one is called Omen for...no particuliar reason (well, it kinda sounds elven-ish), and the other Saxton, because glorious Saxton Hale

Two weeks at most.  I think the EA early access thing is still happening for XBox 1 users so there will probably be screens/vids for that up.

Game is up on Xbox One on the 13th and will be playable for at least 6 hours (before it fully goes live on launch day).

 

Personally, I've already got a physical copy preordered, so subscribing to EA Access to play Inquisition early isn't the best idea since that would mean having two copies of the same game. Not that bothered by the wait.

 

I usually go with a mixture of not-contextually-inappropriate historical names and, for human Fereldans, generic English names.

Speaking of names, in every Bioware game since KotOR, for every first character it's always been a Greek mythological name.

Hera in KotOR

Artemis Cousland in DAO and DAOA

Athena Hawke in DA2

 

and it was Calypso Shepard for the ME games...

 

I'm torn between several Greek names for DAI; Nyx, Nike, Hebe, Hecate, Hymera....

Really don't see this going well and I hate the massive bias it shows towards MS. If you're gonna do it, let every one play. Meanwhile, Bioware has been going on about how they can't do a demo...only to release an exclusive demo.

I agree ! Its suck!! We've been waiting and waiting . If the game is Playable..then release it already...no some crappy demo whatsoever !

You mean EA has released an exclusive demo. BW has nothing to do with it... or they were sorta forced into it kind of thing. Either way it's more than likely its EA that's behind the exclusive demo and now Bioware.

EA offered to also introduce the service to PS4 but Sony declined the offer because they didn't believe it had marketing value. See here.

 

It was never meant to be exclusive. That's just how things turned out.

you just got Alien: Isolation no way you have finished it already why not play that? I'm sure it could keep you busy till release

I cant!!! I fooled the game thinking I have DirectX11...and it just crashhhhhhed..when I hit play . So can't play it...till I get a new graphic card . Wasted 3h trying to move my mouse on setting....to lower the resolution...thats just how bad it was . 3HOURS!! to just be able to move the mouse.......................

This was specifically a console thing. As far as I understand, they are testing the waters and trying to decide if this business practice works for the console market. Come to think of it, PC has had plenty of early access programs in its time, but this is pretty much the first time such a service has been offered on a console.

For me I tend to go for Old English for humans and city elves, something from Norse mythology for dwarves and something Celtic for Dalish elves. I'm tempted to look up Bréton and Galician names for my Dalish, to keep with the idea of Celtic but from a tribe we don't yet know. Not sure what to do with my Qunari when I make one...

Oh, it's much better when you actually upgrade every now and then.

Admittably, I spent about nine grand on the last upgrade, but as Tali would put it... totally worth it.

Oh. Upgrading laptops. Near impossible.

 

This is why you get a desktop.

With a laptop, you just end up with a PC that needs to be upgraded in exactly the same manner as a console.

 

Buying a desktop for the first time is more expensive than a new console, but upgrading is cheaper afterwards.

And I don't want to hear anything about upgrading more often! You're doing it in the name of running things better than consoles!

(Unless it's a crappy console port, which fails to use half of your PC's capabilities. In that case, UGH, Maker, why?)

 

(Plus a good gaming rig can still do office duties.)
