Correct. This was apparently in response to feedback on providing variety or something.
Dammit... so does this mean its possible that I won't be able to create the face that they use in the trailer for the male inquisitor?

Just continuing the topic of character names here... I really love unisex names for some reason, so my Warden's name is Jordan Cousland, my Champion is Devon Hawke and my Inquisitor will be Carlin Lavellan.
All female of course!
All three of my heroes have the same first name
Warden- Claire Cousland
Champion- Claire Hawke
Inquisitor- Claire Trevelyan
This is mostly for role playing purposes, I role play that this name has some sort of fate/destiny tied to it and so women born with this name are born to do something great, as far as I know Andraste's full name has never been stated so I pretend Andraste was not her real name that it was more of a name she took when she became a prophet and her real name was forgotten and that name is in fact Claire. If Andraste's full name has been stated in a book or anything then it will just be that those who are born with this name are marked for greatness.
I like this idea very much! Very creative.
I was trying to come up with some über awesome reason for why all of Thedas' greatest heroes are female (for role playing's sake) but... meh, I guess women are just badass in the Dragon Age universe. ![]()
Oh man...
I just remembered how The Masked Empire got me looking forward to Inquisition's bit in Orlais.
I'll return when I stop fanboying and thinking three weeks is unbearably long.
And we're presumably going to meet Sera there, too.
I may be more interested in Orlais than Ferelden after all.
Speaking of names, in every Bioware game since KotOR, for every first character it's always been a Greek mythological name.
Hera in KotOR
Artemis Cousland in DAO and DAOA
Athena Hawke in DA2
and it was Calypso Shepard for the ME games...
I'm torn between several Greek names for DAI; Nyx, Nike, Hebe, Hecate, Hymera....
Greek names? I'm so proud of you. *sheds one single tear*

Since I'm thinking of making a character to romance Cass, I think I might name him Heracles. (Proper spelling, Hercules came along during the Roman Empire.)

Why? Female fighters are relatively common in Thedas, it makes sense that a bunch of the world's heroes are women, there's enough examples in our own history. Of course the player characters attain a special level of heroism, but I figure that is more because video games, than anything.
I've tended to go Irish/Scottish/Welsh for the names of my human DA protags. Canon Warden is Liam Cousland, and my two favorite Hawkes are Angus and Rhona.
For DAI, I've compiled this short list that I'll pick from:
Female:
Ceridwen
Guinevere
Gwendolyn
Rhian
Iorwen
Siobhan
Male:
Ewan
Evan
Arthur
Marius
Cormac
Fergal
Marius is the obvious exception though, I just like the name and I think a little Roman flair could go well with "Trevelyan".

I honestly don't know, but it sounds like there's some randomness involved as to how default faces work this time around.
So consoles vs PCs... Are we really doing that? I hope we're not doing that.
Consoles are cheaper to buy, easier to set up and if you buy a game for them you know that it will work the same as for anyone else with your console.
Desktops PCs are more powerful with potentially better graphics, have the potential to be upgraded and fixed when parts go wrong, and can do more productive stuff than just consuming media.
Laptops are less powerful and upgradeable but you can take them in your bag!
What's the most important thing to you? What fits your needs and budget? Get that and don't presume to tell other people what they should get. Choice is good!
I'm perfectly happy with my Alienware laptop (M14x R2 model) and Xbox One for now. Most of my gaming is done on the latter, with a few games being played on the former.
I used to have both consoles and a PC back in the PS1 and PS2 days but I moved into PC only. I am a keen amateur photographer and I shoot RAW, so I like the grunt of a desktop PC to process photos, as well as gaming. As I said, we all make choices based on our own circumstances and preferences. I never understood why people feel the need to get so argumentative about it. It's the same with brand fanboys in photography. Just buy what you feel best fits your needs and budget, get on with doing what you enjoy and don't waste your energy arguing about other people's decisions.
I can't really get into aggressive characters. Deeply passionate ones, yes (I still like Anders a lot), but aggressive PCs have too much just being an undirected jerk for me.
I really enjoy playing aggressive PCs myself, love their no nonsense approach, their bluntness, their fire plus being brutally b!tchy has proven to have some of the funniest dialogue I have heard in Bioware games yet. I found when I played mainly diplomatic softer approach PCs my interest nose dived, eh they just bore me personally, aggressive/sarcastic ftw.

I feel the same.
My 'canon' characters tend to be the good type, but other characters I play are complete jerks, and I love them for it. Like in ME2, Renegade FemShep was utter win.
So I was listening to a couple of songs on Youtube earlier, Johnny Chash's the Ring of Fire, and Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire.
And it got me thinking, what songs would you have playing at the opening, when the Fae Rift first comes into existence, also what do you think Sera might listen to, if she had access to all the music we have now? Or your Inquisitor for that matter.

I agree. Computers have the potential to be vastly superior, at the cost of upgrading far more often and higher requirements for user.
Consoles bring up the advantage of being meant to be used in a living room, thus you have a more cozy place to play, with a much larger screen, lower user requirements (everyone can plug stuff into a 230 volt AC) and easier split-screen multiplayer realization (I can't imagine a PC plugging in two KB/M combos, while two controllers seem common enough on consoles).
It is true, that if I wanted, I could grab a console for about 10k and be done with hardware for the next few years. However, as I prefer the PC, it's entirely possible that I'll spend up to tripple that sum for upgrades before the next generation comes out. Good PC components aren't cheap, plus you need to consider extra components such as cooling tech for when some components simply generate too much heat. Thinking about it, I think I could use another cooler, and that's somewhere between the .5-1k mark already.
See how easily money goes away with PC upgrading as opposed to the console? It's a major disadvantage, and it's only up to you whether or not the advantages outweigh it to you.

I tend to gravitate toward being diplomatic all the time, since I find it very hard to turn down being nice when I have an option to be such. Though I make exceptions when we speak of topics that I hate.

I could never listen to outside music while playing VG's myself, find it distracting to what I'm doing. As for Sera's taste in music welp Lukas mentioned on the OP that she'd listen/bop around to this
and he likens her attitude to Joan Jett which I approve of, love her myself. Sera strikes me as an indie/punk rock kinda girl, love that music myself. ![]()
Sera would prob love this song too

I can understand that, I'm sorta weird, i've usually got something going in the background whether its music, or audiobooks, but that's only after I've played through the game a couple of times, if its my first time playing, no external sounds.
As for tastes in music, yea I'd see Sera liking indie/punk rock. Myself I prefer Hard rock/metal, but I like just about every kind of music.
Yeah Sera definitely strikes me as the kind of person to like up-tempo raw-sounding indie or punk rock. Maybe given her political leanings she'd be into some of the more anti-establishment political stuff. It's a bit old school (me being an old man and all
) but I can imagine her liking the Dead Kennedys...

Also she'd like alternative rock too I reckon, she'd probably like Florence and the Machine perhaps. Also classic punk bands like The Clash
and The Sex Pistols are a given, hey she may even like The Ramones too. Swinging wild with my guesses here! ![]()

Wild guesses are the best we can do. At least its not half asleep wild guesses. after staying up all night to figure out what's wrong with your comp, only to come to the conclusion that you may need a new motherboard...
-is not amused-
anyways I'm off to bed, night you people.
*crawls in exhausted again*
Well, after much pondering, I decided to scrap the first chapter of my story and rewrite it completely (almost).
I gave Sera more of an attitude, gave Trevelyan more of a vulnerable side and added a lot of funny bits. The relationship has a more playfull vibe now. But it's still hot! Let me know what you think!
I hope not the Pistols. They always struck me as such a stage-managed band. I never bought that they wanted to do anything other than shock people for a laugh. Definitely The Clash, though.
and The Sex Pistols are a given
That's a horrible thing to say about someone.
