So I was listening to a couple of songs on Youtube earlier, Johnny Chash's the Ring of Fire, and Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire.
And it got me thinking, what songs would you have playing at the opening, when the Fae Rift first comes into existence, also what do you think Sera might listen to, if she had access to all the music we have now? Or your Inquisitor for that matter.

I read Johnny Cash as Johhny Cadash.

As far as music for Sera, agree with most and will say punk/indie.

For my Inquisitors:

Elf - Niki Minaj
Qunari - Pink Floyd
Human (warrior) - some local Andrastian (err...I mean Christian xd) metal band

Don't feel bad Crim, the Sex Pistols are awesome. Johnny Rotten forever! Also I can see Sera being a big fan of the Ramones, singing "I wanna be sedated" intentionally off key to see who she could annoy.

it's always punk/rock/indie with the music type for these characters...none of which I have an interest in. i like some rock from back in the day but I can't relate to most of that music. like...at all.

I'm just going to head canon that one of my Inquisitors writes prose to lute music in their spare time...the early stages of hip hop.

Well, after much pondering, I decided to scrap the first chapter of my story and rewrite it completely (almost).

 

I gave Sera more of an attitude, gave Trevelyan more of a vulnerable side and added a lot of funny bits. The relationship has a more playfull vibe now. But it's still hot! Let me know what you think!

Read it. I liked the first version but must admit that yes you did improve it, especially Trevelyan's character. She came across as a real flawed person as opposed to a manipulative mastermind. I kind of miss the stepping game bit, though...

Yeah, I was sorry to get rid of it, but it didn't fit the dynamic anymore. I found a suitable replacement for chapter two. I think it's even better than the stepping game.

I really enjoyed the mind games myself, liked the tension. Welp I liked the new changes also and Sera's sassy attitude shone through in the update which was a plus.

Nicki Minaj is very unoriginal imo. There are a lot of better female rappers out there, kinda baffles me she's so famous.
