I hate how much of a rumor this is.
It's technically possible, but that also means that it makes a good rumor :S
Im also getting the feeling that we will at least see a CG Trailer annoucment at E3 this year
thats what i expect but im crossing my fingers for some gameplay too.
im so excited !
One of the articles from those rumor sites had this to say:
"On another note, it seems that fans want to play as a non-human character. Bioware should add in more choices which include Korgan, Quarian, Salarian and Salari."
Not entirely sure what a Salari or a Korgan is...
Dat journalism...
I posted in another thread the game would be released March 6 2016
They probably give more information shortly after the release of DAI since that's what Bioware is currently focused on right now.
^ March 2015 too early for a release of ME:N.
I'm going to parrotothers and say 4th Q 2015 at earliest, 1st Q 2016 more likely.
Agreed. Releasing a new ME less than a year from now, when we have no info on it? Highly, highly unlikely.
1st quarter 2016 I would guess.
Also yes DAI is relevant but we're also forgetting BioWare Edmonton's new IP. Do we know that will come after ME and not before?
I'm going to join in with the chorus of people who are skeptical about a March 2015 release. If it were less than a year off we would be hearing a lot more about it.

A few weeks ago we had no info on Arkham Knight and it will be released in October... not to mention when ME3 was first announced its release date was shorter than year from that date.
Mid/late 2015 is reasonable, early 2016 if it gets delayed.
Wow, that's about as rumor-y as rumors get. Spring 2015 is way too soon.

Here's Korgan:

"Shoddily built and shoddily maintained, but good killin grounds none the less."
Maybe this is true - or what?
Not sure what to think of this...
It could be in Spring 2015 because:
- We have to consider that DAI will have released about 33 months after it's last DLC (they were working on another DLC afterwards that they canceled, so I put it in the middle). People were brainstorming ideas for DAI way earlier than that, but don't forget the game was delayed to expand it's scope. Then again, the ME team was also brainstorming (from the moment EC was released).
- MENext, if released in April 2015, would have had 29 months of development (started out mostly after Bioware Montreal's Omega DLC in November 2012). Let's also consider that MENext would get a nice reduction in development time thanks to the efforts of the DAI team and their work on Frostbite 3. If you want to consider something, the dev time between Bioware Edmonton's last DLC and ME3 was 18 months (61 % increase in dev time)
- PAX leak and N7 Day: From last August and November, we saw where Bioware was in development. They had full out concepts of all species running in Frostbite 3. They proposed ideas to the audience about where the game would go next (sequel, exploration, new species, etc.). These are not brainstorming ideas. These are concrete ideas on where the game will go
- Under the radar: We know that the game is functional and running in Bioware Montreal. They've talked about how they started motion capture sessions in Vancouver. They have started writing the game's script, dialogue, and characters for at least a few months. A full vertical slice was presented at Bioware internally last December, which usually includes most if not all game features. These are not things that happen early in development. This happens in production, when everyone starts pitching in (programmers, designers, artists, etc.). Also take into account comments from Bioware themselves. Even though people like Casey Hudson and Aaryn Flynn obviously want to promote their game, saying the game is ''fresh, but recognizable'' and ''gorgeous'' implies that there are actually hard facts, screenshots, and gameplay to comment on.
It could be all fake because:
- Not a word: We haven't heard anything official about the game except ''No Shepard''. Everything I've posted up until now has been nothing but rumors and speculations. Also, if your game is releasing in a year, you'd probably have started the marketing machine by now
- They could have gone back to the drawing board several times, making all my previous statements about game progress irrelevant
- Change of heart: EA has given plenty of dev time to the Bioware teams to make great games after their last ones were, uhm, not up to consummer's standards. Why wouldn't they do the same with the ME team, which is probably the bigger franchise of the two (don't quote me)
Just a few things that come to mind. Don't forget that article might just be linked to a remastered trilogy coming for next-gen consoles (not MENext). I still think Spring is way too soon, but one can hope, right?
Sorry, I just saw the twitter thread, definitely I said nothing new.
Whether it's going to be a sequel or a "meanwhile" game, I think it should be set in the post-credits timeline. Given that we're never told when exactly that is, it then benefits the idea that Shepard isn't around nor are the other characters to become companions...
That way we get a relatively clean slate, depsite the fact references to their impact are present in the lore.

Had my first stress dream about E3 last night. It must be May.
Guess that is one way to determine the announcement ![]()
When do you think this game will be announced? Mass Effect 3 was released in February 2012, which is over 2 years ago! Surely something would have been announced by now... thoughts?
ME3 was released on march 6 2012, FYI.
For ME3 they put a lot into advertising. I swear I saw as many tv adds for ME3 as the COD and Battlefield games. They thus had to stick to their release date and that's probably why it seemed a bit rushed at the end of the game(just my thoughts and what I felt). The last ME3 DLC was the Citidel DLC and that was released on March 5 2013. They probably had started putting together some ideas for ME Next during that year. I think with the help Bioware Montreal received from the Dragon Age side of Bioware with regards to the frostbite 3 engine, will that help get the game out the door faster and how much help it was we don't know.
I think all this 2016 release talk is ridiculous! 4 years since the last game like come on! If it was going to be 2016 I highly doubt we would get any info at E3. The time between ME1 and ME2 was 3 years and 2 months. Time between ME2 and ME3 was 2 years and 2 months. I think a release date of spring 2015 is doable because of their head start on the frostbite 3 engine. Fall 2015 is realistic as well, but I think a fall Dragon Age release and a Spring Mass Effect release would be FANTASTIC! Since Dragon Age Origins there has been close release dates of games and dlc so I see no difference here.
