My first was Neverwinter Nights. It was around 2006 and I was pretty new to WRPGs and PC gaming. NWN got good reviews so I went with that. I thought it was meh. I played the OC once and was done with it. I didn't take notice of BW until KotOR. At that time, I barely knew anything about Star Wars so I was hesitant but I eventually bought it. I got hooked and I didn't even notice that the story's pattern was almost exactly the same as that of NWN when I first played it. After that, I got the BG series, ME series, Jade Empire (which I only played for about an hour before getting bored) and DA:O.

My favorites would be Baldur's Gate 2 and DA:O. Though it has been years since I last played BG2 so it might just be nostalgia.

Baldur's Gate.

Was glad to see another D&D game after the end of the Gold Box era, and The Eye of the Beholder games.

Out of all the RPG games I have played over the years Biowares games have been some best.

KoTOR. I saw Star Wars and brought it. I'll admit I was pretty shocked that it wasn't the prequel trilogy and could not explain why it was different to the films (back then I had no idea the expanded universe existed and was only aware of the prequel triliogy which I thought was the original trilogy).

Baldur's Gate was the first BioWare game I played, in '99 -- I didn't play it right at release, as it took me a little while to hear about it. It is still my favourite, albeit tied with Baldur's Gate II to such an extent that I often consider them as one unit (probably since I always play them back to back).

Dragon Age: Origins was my favourite recent game by a large margin.

Mass Effect on the Xbox 360. It was an impulse purchase. I was in an Internet cafe browsing some of my favourite websites while waiting for my shift at work to begin and I came across a few reviews for Mass Effect. I was intrigued by the premise, third person shooter ( heavily compared to Gears of War although in hindsight those comparisons were very generous ) with space magic ( compared to the force in the Star Wars universe ), heavy rpg mechanics, a morality system and a dialogue wheel not to mention the sci fi setting. Right before I started work I popped into my nearest game store and bought a copy of Mass Effect, as luck would have it Mass Effect had only come out on the 360 that same weekend.

KotOR (1) - on PC.

I was heavily into the Jedi Knight series at the time, and looking for something similar... which it did not turn out to be - in a good way! :D

KotOR was the first thing that made me take notice of BW as a developer.

Sadly the JK series died (such a shame) and sadly I also missed out on the BG games.

BG series…and it's been downhill since.

Years ago, I was a hopeless Diablo II addict, obsessing everyday about character builds and endless boss runs for the most ungodly items. Then one day, I happened to went down to my local game shop and bought a game called "Neverwinter Nights." It was a pure impulse buy; I knew nothing about Bioware or the game I bought, and at that point I kinda weirdly assumed that all RPGs were like Diablo.

The game opened my eyes to a whole new (to me at the time) world of RPGs; ones with greater focus on story and deep character systems over hack'n'slash and loot. It was a revelation. After playing NWN for a few hours, I tried to go back to Diablo II. The game immediately felt stale and uninteresting, and I suddenly didn't really want to play it any more. Neverwinter Nights cured my Diablo II addiction.

Ever since then, in addition to conventional qualitative rating, I would also evaluate each new Bioware game on its hypothetical potential to cure my Diablo II addiction, had it been the game I bought instead of Neverwinter Nights on that fateful day.

My favourite Bioware game ever remains Knights of the Old Republic. It was the first game ever to make me pick my jaw off the floor after a plot twist.

When did I first learn about BioWare? Not sure. I may have watched my dad play Baldur's Gate 1/2 way back in like 2002 or 2003, I don't remember. However, my dad borrowed Neverwinter Nights 1/2 from his friend who has heaps of video games, but he never played them. I remember looking at the box of one of them, and I may have noticed the word/s 'BioWare' written on it, but again, I can't say I remember reading it.

The first game I ever played was Dragon Age: Origins. My sister got it for herself when it came out, and I watched her a bit, but I didn't play it until my dad got it a month or two later.

DA:O is my favourite BW game, for sure.

I've played BG (but only shortly after getting the necromancer companion and his servant, so I didn't get very far), BG2 (all the way through), DA:O and DA2.

My first experience with Bioware was when I was a kid, and I brought one of their games: "Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic". I grew up on those games. Years later, I found out about Mass effect through KOTOR, and eventually I moved on to Dragon Age about a year or two after DA2 was released, and now here I am. I still play the KOTOR games once or twice every year for nostalgia.
