I think that might actually be an Inquisitor, because it looks like Varric and the warden with him, to me, which leaves the party lead out of the picture.

So this screenshot, am I the only one who thinks that the dual wielding rogue there could be Cole? He certainly fits the description of Cole we have.
Thought they brought back duel wielding warriors?

Thought they brought back duel wielding warriors?
I thought it wasn't confirmed either way.
In any case I simply think Cole is the most likely candidate for that persons identity, it could very well be someone completely new, but I'm nearly 100% percent certain that it is not the Inquisitor. Edit: the character just looks a bit to scruffy looking, most of the Inquisitors we've seen (in gameplay demos and concept arts) and have looked powerful and authoritative, that guy just doesn't fit with what we've been shown so far.
At the very least that guy is probably who David Gaider was referring to when he said that someone was missing from this post:

I think he's something similar to Justice in DA2, merged better than Anders/Justice, but not seamlessly like Wynne/Faith. He's a spirit merged with the original human/elven Cole.

Funny how people find the idea of a spirit/demon companion outrageous, when we already had an assassin hired to kill YOU, 3 abominations (1 of them a zombie),a blood mage, a pirate, a qunari vanguard who just murdered a whole family... And my favorite: an elven mage who killed dozens of humans for no reason and doesn't seem to feel guilty at all about it.
Like, really? ![]()

There are so many people wanting Cullen in the game, and we haven't seen art of him. But neither have we seen any art of Cole. Still, Cole doesn't have to be a companion; I just want to see him in the game. If he is a companion, he'd probably fit quite well with the "surprise meatballs" food descriptor the devs were bouncing around before.

There's atleast two pics of Cullen, one is from the leaked Survey and other is the war room pic that most people think is Cullen because he looks like him

I thought Cullen was in the roundtable art. No?
Didn't recognize him. It's been quite some time since I played DA2, and he'd look different from DAO for sure--it's been, what? Eleven years since DA:O? Twelve?
If they're going for an even class split, though, we might get Cole as the third rogue--and instead of getting Cullen at all, the moustache guy might be Rhys. I'd say he's Dorian, but if he were Rhys, then it would make more sense if Cole is a character.
In a thread in Scuttlebutt, someone also suggested we might actually have ten total companions, and lose one of them at the start of the game like in DA2. So we might have to choose, for instance, between Cullen and Vivienne.
I've heard rumors that there won't be any DLC characters this time around, so if Cole isn't one of the base 9 companions, the chance of him ever appearing as a companion is slim to none. I don't mind him not being a companion, though--I just want to do a quest involving him, or something. Though I certainly wouldn't complain about him being a companion, if he were to be announced as one.

I still think Cullen is really likely as the military guy for the home base NPCs. He was grouped with the Scribe girl in the survey and she is also in the table art, so it seems likely to me, if most people think scribe girl is a home base NPC. I personally think she'll probably be a trade NPC, probably from Antiva.

I am Cullen fanboy through and through, but I do think he will most likely be just an important NPC, perhaps our Inquisition's link to a more moderate Templar group.
I don't think Cole will be a companion either, merely an important NPC.

Hey, who's the bottom left mage woman? Given she's grouped with the other companions, she might not be the Inquisitor. Maybe she's one of the missing companions.
In any case, the way I see it, it's equally likely that Cullen is a companion or not. And, in one way, it'd make more sense to have him than Cole. Cole would not be a romance--Gaider has been very clear on that point. Cullen, on the other hand, certainly would. So he might be a military leader, if you get the templars on your team, or he might be a companion. Or he might be both.
But we're here to talk about Cole, right? Oh, I know!
What if during the quest where you could get Cullen, you have the option of siding with Cole/the mages, or Cullen/the templars? Side with mages, get Cole. Side with templars, get Cullen. Hmmmmm... And it might actually work if not for the fact that we've seen no art of Cole. So, more likely we're going to have to kill him and take Cullen along anyway. Alas, poor Cole. He was too interesting to live. ![]()
Edit: nevermind on the left side lady. She's directly under the male version, so definitely is Default Female Inquisitor.

Well, if Cole is supposed to be invisible.... he might even be in the War Room concept art and we wouldn't know.

Exactly. So if people start complaining that he wasn't in the game, BioWare can just say he was, but we'd forgotten about it.
