So now we all know that DA:I will have 2 voice choices for each gender. I think it's a good balance between providing choice for the player and keeping the budget in check for the developer.

Still, I think there is room to allow players more access when it comes to voice by providing a pitch change option in the character creator. I really loved how Saints Row 4 did it, and I'd like Bioware to consider it. Here's a video of Saints Row 4 voice pitch option.

In Saints Row 4, there's a lot of dialogue for the PC, and by changing the pitch, it is actually applied to all of the lines(don't know how they did that). I think it's a really cool and simple idea to implement.

You think the chipmunk voice and the steroid abuser voice will fit in DA:I? Don't think so

No it doesn't, but why does the option of having something like this bug me? All I know is that it certainly adds more control over player voice. Accessibility is always a good thing.

Hey, it'd give one of those YouTube parasites an idea for another revenue-raising playthrough.

How do we know that there will be 2 voices for each gender?
Have you a link?

Yeah, I get what you're saying. Still, I feel that it won't get any better than that(I'd be surprised if they said 3 VO per gender because that's huge), so I made the thread with the 2 VO per gender at best in mind.

While I would never use it because I find that pitch modulation usually doesn't sound natural to me, I don't see why it couldn't be in there for people who do want to use it.

as funny as it sounds it would not likely be something in the game. simply put it works in saints row as that's a comedy game. Dragon age is a fantasy drama it would not fit in with the dark and serious tones they are trying to get across in their plot.

Yeah I think it'd be cool. Maybe if the voices could be modulated to be different enough but still sound realistic.

I don't think it worked all that well in Saints Row as it just sounded wrong. I like the idea in principle and I have no objection to it being in there, but I wouldn't use it unless they managed to get it to sound natural.

Soul Calibur was a bit more natural with it I think.

Sure, if it's going to be implemented, I'd rather not just see it be slapped on to the CC. Maybe they can add something other than just pitch control, but I don't know what else can help.

It was fun in SRIV but there really is no way to do a high quality pitch change without dedicating a massive amount of time to pitch shift all the dialogue and have multiple versions of it on disk. That would severely bloat the size of the game install. The other option is to do a high quality pitch shift in real time but that would require a massive amount of processing power which could be used better elsewhere. From what I could tell, SRIV used a cheap form of real time pitch shift which does the job but honestly sounds like crap. I feel like BW wants to maintain a certain amount of quality, and doing this would just make things sound really cheesy in my opinion. I get the "why not have the option" argument, but then that case could be made for pretty much any other aspect of the game.

The Saint Row series truly is the holy grail of character creation.

Well, even with all it's customization options, it did have one annoyance. Not being able to save the created face. I spent 2 hours working on a character, started a new game and bam, it's gone. Hopefully DA:I's character creator has some sort of save function.

A Qunari Male with the Alpha voice(always attribute the super high voices to Alpha after seeing Up) will be hilarious.

I love the two voice options and while I'm not sure I'd use it, I'd have to hear it first, I really don't have a problem with the pitch change option.   Once I hear what it sounds like, I might find I like the voice just a touch lower or higher.  It might be nice to have my different characters sound just a bit different each time.  I like options I can control.
