Just wondering, in terms of story is it better to play WH before or after Awakenings?
When to play Witch Hunt?

Chronologically, it's the very last. DA:O -> Awakening -> Golems of Amgarrak -> Witch Hunt. That's also the only sequence (I believe) in which you can import from one to the other. The story doesn't change either way, only what you did in DA:O affects Witch Hunt.

Awakening, Amgarrak and Witch Hunt are completely independent, I don't see why they had to force a particular order for playing these DLCs. It's also very annoying that there is no victory save in Amgarrak and so you can't even check how many thousands of corpses you had to slay alongside the Harvester.
If there are any autosaves at all from entering the Forge then they get overwritten by other autosave points if you reload earlier saves and fart around to check something.
Last but not least, some moron had to make the game stop totting up XP when you hit the level cap in Origins (level 25). I found that irritating. If it's the same with Awakening's level cap then it would be really annoying, especially if you have to slay several levels' worth of enemies without getting any recognition. Normally if a dungeon slog gets a bit too long in the tooth then you slog on because you know that you'll get some XP out of it at least.

The only thing I found annoying has having to create separate character saves for Origins and Awakening. You have a character limit of 10 for PS3, so you have to delete a Origins save to bring it into Awakenings.

I'd say whenever you liked, but if you want to play it in a specific order for RP reasons then Zazzerka's list is the most accurate one chronologically...
