BoWare just became petty. Yay.

Bioware doesn't want spoilers getting out about the game before it is officially released. They're entitled to pull down the stream if they so choose.

And if your posts are any indication, so is having any shred of intelligence or a frame of reference beyond a 3 year old.
You do get bonus points for having an awesome sig though.
Intelligence? You apparently haven't read all my posts, the purpose of mentioning fair use and legaity was simply to get people talking.
EA and BW can do whatever they please my point was it was petty since the streams weren't hurting anyone and were likely to boost sales slightly. The law is most likely on their side and I couldn't care less. They have money, they have lawyers, thusly thy have the power to do what they want when they want. I won't dispute this. I did the the purpose of doing so was to get the peopel with strong opinions on the matter to start talking, so basically to get people going:)

Putting up streams of gaming is not "sticking it to the man".
I highly doubt that is the intention.
Says you. Whether it was the intention or not. Anyways, I was only half-kidding.
Wow, don't get so defensive. Honestly.

Would OP also condone people streaming movies before they are released?

Like I said in the first post if you don't want spoiler, don't watch, if someone posts spoilers, don't read. Again, they got the power to do it, but using the power to shut down streams which will probably help their sales figure makes them petty.
And movies? Thats a maybe, a game is different, games are interactive and one person won't play it the same as the next, BW whole thing with ME is that its your story and that no two peoples playthrough will be the same.

This has grown rather amusing.
Though I mentioned fair use my actual point had nothing to do with
legality. At the end of the day fair use usually loses and ultimately
the copyright holders win out and have all the power, whether this is
fair is a seperate argument. My point was that even if they have the
power and are well within their rights in taking streams down, my point
was that doing that made them petty as the streams were not causing any
harm and most likely will boost their sales slightly now that people
have seen that the game can carry its own weight without the devs
around to back their game up with praise and candy like a creepy uncle.
EDIT:
Fair use and the legality that comes with it brings out alot of people
with strong feeling about the issue on both sides of the argument.
Using fair use as a reasoning for my opinion was to help bring people
with stong opinions to the discussion.
And getting the game from a mom and pop stores that don't understand street dates need to followed is quite legitimate.
EDIT
2: My actual basis for my opinion is that the internet in its entirety
should not be bound by the laws of governments. Considering the
vastness of the internet claiming that your country has the power to do
what it pleases with it is naive IMO. The internet should be a safe
haven for those who wish to seek shelter from laws and regulations, the
internet itself has grown to the point that it is no longer anchored in
a single country but is a country unto itself, so immense in size it
can not be contained by any one power. The fact that piracy is able to
exist so successfully is an example of how futile trying to say you
have any kind of power with in its domain is.
So you support Pirating, Pedophiles, conspiring terrorists and a myraid of other things.
As futile as it may be, it's Bioware's right to protect THEIR work, in any way they see fit.
You're just a moron with a chip on your shoulder, who's life is so devoid of real satisfaction that you have to b i t c h and whine on internet forums about trivialities, yet like a hippie, you take no actual action. you b i t c h for the sake of it, the worst kind of individual on this planet. Putting gaps in between the letters of a ulgarity is not the same as using *****. Lets see what I can do with this
And I don't condone pedophelia. I simply believe the internet should not be influenced by the laws of governments as the internet itself has no boundaries to speak of and as such should not be under the power of countries that do have boundaries. It would be like the US claiming outer space as their territory.

And now for Counter-point and my last bit of tinder into this fire:
Host servers are on land, within nations, and thus under the jurisdiction of that nations copyright protection laws. Good try smarty smart tho. So you can skirt the boundries by hosting in different nations with different laws, but laws still apply.

And the moron and smarty smart comments show alot of immaturity. I try to do these topics as civilized as possible but people still try to be as offensive and degrading as possible in an effort to seem superior but the fact remain, you, like me and everyone else here is spending the vast majority of their time on the internet instead of actually having real lives.
The actual point behind everything is that there aren't any good discussions that haven't been cover or aren't simply going in circles because people don't seem to have the intellect to grasp simple concepts and read prior posts which would have answered the person question since the person is the tenth one to ask the question. And the question has been answer 5 times already. So basically this topic is because there is nothing else to do. At least the unofficial Borderlands forums remained interesting all the way up to release. These forums have gotten old and boring and the odds of new information being revealed officially prior to release is highly unlikely.

You want to prove what an apathetic, arrogant ****** you are by showing off to the whole world that you're playing a pirated copy of a game, go ahead. Don't expect the people who pay for your douchebaggery not to retaliate though.
Youtube has in place a set of policies, including not posting illegal activity. Piracy is illegal despite the overwhelming number of idiots who do it regularly.

That would depend where the host site is stationed, and how they respond to a request from whatever company is asking for moderation.
Justin.TV obviously complied (if in fact Bioware did ask for removal, it's possible that the guy who was streaming simply didn't feel like streaming anymore).

Most think they are hell some most likely belive it the only way piracy will stop is if the demand for it stop so its really no win Bio(or who ever) cant stop every pirate but they can try

Start cutting off the balls of pirates so they can't have children who they will brainwash into believing that they are entitled to other people's hard work without paying for it.
That way, within a generation or two every pirate is extinct.
If that is too extreme we can always cut off their hands. They may be able to pirate by accessing torrent with their nose but they won't be able to play the games.

<--- PC gamer that pays for ALL her games and media. Sorry, but you know...console gamers steal stuff too as someone pointed out. So if you want to bash people for piracy, bash the actual pirates and do not lump us all together, thanks. I tend to slam pirates and whiny people who think they are entitled to having everything under the sun for free - hmph. Meanwhile, shouldn't you redirect your anger specifically at the idiot troll who started this instead of making blanket statements about us as a group?
