N7 alone is meaningless. The only N7 I'll consider taking notice of would be 3,000+, but even then that is only "partial" of what I would take into account. Weapon loadout, mod selection, Gear selection all have more significance than N7 and even then it isn't a good indicator that the match will be good or not.

N7 is just a thing you can do for fun, it doesn't mean anything, and it certainly doesn't grant you any additional skill by promoting.

 

I think being able to play lower level characters does take a certain skill set that you can't really replicate with a level 20 character (other than respec and don't fill in all the points). But then I almost never actually play a game with a level 20 character, so I'm probably not as good with that kind of character as someone who never promotes, because I don't have a good feel for how hard their powers/weapons will hit, or how tough I am. Not saying one or the other is better/worse, just different.

First impressions and N7 rating is one of those.

 

My first impression of somebody wouldn't have anything to do with how wealthy I think they are, and I would get more than just a price tag out of looking at how they've dressed themselves up for a first date.

 

Going on your example, I would say that looking at N7 would be like judging the person's wealth entirely based on what their shoes look like. You're so focused on one aspect that you're missing a lot of things.

"Do not judge a book by its cover". The person with the expensive clothing may be deep in debt due to a lack of self-control over their money. They spend their money to keep up with fashion trends, etc. The person who appears scruffy looking may not care at all about appearances and rather spend their money or other items or is a "saver" rather than a "spender". Personally I care about a person's personality and monetary wealth is not a concern for me but it seems like everyone cares about $$$ these days.

 

I am not sure why you would link N7 rating to $$$ in RL. I thought maxed URs would be a better indicator for wealth in this game.
