I find it interesting that some gamers are complaining that the past generation consoles are dragging down the quality when some gamers on this forum may not have a PC or graphics card that could handle the game if it was only developed for the next-gen and high end pc rigs. Unless the graphics requirements are like DA2 I foresee some PC gamers upgrading their systems, buying new PCs or forgoing the game.
You see, even if DAI would look like sh*t on my PC, it would be my choice to put up with it or to upgrade my PC. If I don't have the money, too bad but it's still something I could try to change. There were games I replayed after three years with upgraded graphics and they looked significantly better. That's what can happen if the visuals are designed for high-end hardware but adaptable through options to lower-end hardware. It's as things should be. Don't cut features, just disable them for the lower-end hardware.
Also, there is a difference between not implementing high-end visuals in the first place and implementing them and then cutting them again because of the consoles' limitations. Having had a look at the high-res video footage from the GameStar video, I want my DAI game to look like that, I know my PC can handle it and I also know they already made it look so good. It's all there. If the published game has to be downgraded from a better-looking version that already existed, I see a reason to complain.
