best way to earn gold is keep force loading the blood armor DLC, sell the armor (7gp and some change) save game, disable DLC, force load, save game, enable DLC load, sell blood armor...rinse and repeat...I have 150 gp before I left Ostagar..takes atleast 2 mins to earn 7 gold pieces so its not too shabby

People are saying most of it, Side quests are HUGE, be a pack rat, Arrows/Bolts sell for very nice as well as Weapons/Armor. If you need room trash your Salves/Spirit Shards/Frozen Lightnings/ETC they sell for the least. Make your own potions!!! (This one is huge) Both Health and Magic Potions, it will save you a ton in the long run.  Before I started just spending money cause I could (Wasn't paying attention to how much I had because it was never a problem) I was at 249 Gold right after the Landsmeet.

Yeah. I've got 85 gold now.

I'm all the way up to 135 now, of course I just finished the last of the main sub-quests before the Landsmeet. And 135 won't even buy 1 of the 10 or so items I'd like to buy!!

Money is a BIG problem in this game - there are lots of very powerful items for sale and no where near enough money made to buy more than 1 or 2 of them.

I don't like the merchant profit margins, ratio of their sell to buy prices is ~ 5 or 6

Not a happy camper!:pinched:

It isn't a problem, it's working as intended. You are SUPPOSED to have to choose  between all those powerful endgame items. Bioware deliberately made them expensive so they would have real value, as opposed to in other RPG's where powerful equipment is discovered easily and in great numbers.

It saddens me to see so many people with this "WoW mentality" of I should be able to get everything and get it now...

You are not suppose to be able to get everything in the game in a single LEGIT playthrough. I can't believe people feel the need to cheat / exploit broken mechanics / use console commands to get gold to play a game.

Make choices people - thats primarily what an RPG is all about - making choices and living with them and the consequences of them. You choose to use all your gold to buy Ring A - now you have to accept you can't afford Ring B.

Why is this concept so hard for people to understand?

yah I don't like the cut they give on item worth when buying it...first play I sucked it up...

now I use a mod that makes them buy items at 75% their value instead of only 25%...get's ya quite a bit more when selling but, at least imo, doesn't feel like cheating as you still have money issues
