According to that new Gamestar magazine which seems to be true in it's information it claims the Inquisitor is the only person who can close the tears in the veils. And that creepy statue said the maker is returning and that whole sandal when he rises business

maybe the inquisitor is possessed unknowingly by the maker? and has special powers because of it it's crazy yeah but this is fantasy we're talking about.

I doubt it, since Bioware is leaving the Maker purposefully ambiguous. Having him possess the Inquisitor is pretty much the opposite of that.

I wonder how the religious will feel if they literally play as god in DA:I.

Bioware can always change their mind and make him unambiguous.

They won't really care. It is a video game. Not the 1st one you could be god in either.

Not likely, their whole point of the gaming world is they want multiple perspectives to be "correct". Lots of grey and no absolute right and wrong answers to most of the questions.

I was joking, but who knows. People get riled up over the dumbest **** in the media lately.

How come anyone can get away with saying anything, no matter what it is, by simply posing it as a question?

Couldn't you similarly say that the Dalish Inquisitor is an instrument of the Creators in closing the tears in the Beyond?

Or the Dwarven Inquisitor is an instrument of the Stone?

I've had a similar thought, though not with the Maker; perhaps that will also explain how the Inquisitor survived the events of the intro, he/she was possessed by a Fade spirit, a la Wynne/Evangeline.

This is much more likely. I wonder what kind of spirit. Hope, maybe?

I don't think that's what the OP is talking about. I think the OP is talking about an unambiguous intervention by the mainstream human deity. (Which I hope doesn't happen. The ambiguity is part of what I like about this setting, and it already took a hit from Corypheus. {Did I spell that right?})

Well by definition, being possessed by a spirit doesn't make you an abomination.

:/ Just because you happen to not be a mage?

Woo, Makes me feel so much better.

Given the ambiguity of Corypheus' dialogue and the many debates that have been waged as a result, I don't think "Legacy" provided anything definitive to clear up the inception of the darkspawn or the corruption of the Golden City.

No, an abomination is a mage possessed by a demon. A spirit is not a demon. Unless it is corrupted like Justice was.

So your characters meet neither criteria to be considered an abomination.

One of the few things i agree with the Dalish about is that all spirits are dangerous, but I'd expand that upon and view all of them as negative.

So to me? You would be a non mage abomination, or an Abomination in a normal sense if you were a mage, Even Wynne herself acknowledges what she is.

Anders acknowledges what he is, There isn't anything positive or decent in the denizens of the Fade.

I never said I wanted it. All I said was being possessed by a spirit was much more likely than being possessed by a deity.

We'll have to disagree on the "Nothing positive or decent" thing.

Somehow, this possibility reminds me of the movie Dogma

In that case, the Deity, who is of course Alanis Morrisette, possesses an old guy who loves skee-ball, and because he is knocked unconscious, somehow also becomes trapped in his body. (Omnipotence really takes a hit in many ways in that movie, including angels in essence using a loophole to destroy existence itself.)

BTW, for the Maker to possess someone, would indicate an ongoing interest in, and appearance in, the world, which the Chantry says It no longer has.

Incidentally, psychiatrists will generally diagnose someone who believes themselves to be G-d, as suffering from grandiose delusion disorder.
