Never saw a really attractive person pull a sneer/disgusted look that made you think "Ugh stop making that face?" Also crying. I have yet to see anyone who doesn't take a hotness hit while crying.

This is getting into attractiveness based solely off of physical features, and attractiveness based on their mannerisms or the way they carry themselves.  Also, if he were some random guy I was admiring on the street, that face might make me look away.  If he were someone I had developed a stronger attraction to, then I wouldn't care.  I'm not judging his attractiveness as a person, I'm talking about my split second, gut reaction to his face.

You know if it wasn't a first impression and I knew someones intelligence level I wouldn't care either, and would rather try to search for humor in the stupid. 

But looks first impression doesn't really change unless you have a surgery or an accident or something.

I think a pretty boy is a guy that is widely considered attractive. Some guys are ruggedly handsome, some have qualities that really draw people with certain preferences to them.  But a pretty boy is a guy that is just damned pretty to look at, even if he might not even be your "type".  They just have that wide range of appeal.

And really, my comment was more intended to be silly than anything.  If you watch the video, you might understand better.  He goes from smooth and pretty to... really weird, quickly.

Or simply dress differently. Or smell (nothing I despise more than BO and strong perfume. Opposite sides of the spectrum equally irritating (well the perfume more so cause it'll probably trigger my damn allergies). More than just looks play into attractiveness for me honestly *shrugs* not saying looks don't play a part (cause they do they're usually the first thing someone notices) but I can't judge based off looks once an action is preformed/something is said.

Yeah I agree, it's not just the looks, but I was saying more about how a different LOOK of the face doesn't REALLY change the look of the face.

(Which blows because everyone I know seems to be the type of people that just can't help but be touchy feely and you'd think they'd realize something is wrong with me standing there frozen like they just shocked me til they finally let me go but nope. Also I started evading touches but then my grams pulled her "you never hug me like X, Y and Z" guilt trip so now I have to grit my teeth and bare it.) But yeah if I see you crying I usually do the very awkward shoulder pat before trying to get the hell out of there. Terrible I know. I iz awkward turtle.

On a purely shallow level I would be happier with a more "pretty-boy" LI. I like scruffier, less super pretty guys but there's a difference between that and full on barrel-chest, huge beard, hair everywhere, older men. Which I think is what the OP of this post was getting at. I'd enjoy some more younger eye-candy as well even if cueball Solas is stealing my heart.

 

Also, I saw some people talk about Anders being a pretty boy but I think he was much less of one than Alistair. Anders always looked tired and scruffed up and sad to me, at least in DA2. Alistair is the closest we've gotten to "pretty boy" in Dragon Age, though an argument could be made for Fenris I guess. My Hawke was kind of a pretty boy but that doesn't count.
