I think it's the terms "pretty boys" that put off most people. Had OP said "attractive men" there would have been less shitstorm, probably.

The men in Dragon Age: Inquisition seemed to be designed to appeal to those who enjoy big, muscular fellows or grizzled types.
 
Fans have asked to romance men like this for some time, so I think it's fair that they get the chance to do so.

 
Oh, this is the reason we got Solas, I understand it now J\k But seriously, that mage (and as we suspect here - future LI) is the very opposite of "a big, muscular fellows or grizzled type".

Another day, another chip at my optimism. I'm kind of in agreement though, 99 percent sure he'll end up being an NPC again but Maker be damned if anyone takes that 1 percent away from me.

 

 

As to the OP,  'pretty' isn't the word I would have chosen but I do get where the OP is coming from. So far, none of the males that we know of have particularly piqued my interest as potential LI's either. That's not to say they don't interest me as characters however, because they very much do, just that as a LI potential I consider my aesthetic preferences to lie more along the lines of, 'classically good looking'......a bit of muscle, bit of stubble, killer eyes and human. A restrictive path to walk for sure, but there you go.

 

 

Something for everyone I say, that would be the perfect scenario.

 

 

(I should add, because I feel it's important, that no matter how much a character might appeal to me visually, iff they don't have the personality, character progression and story to match, no dice)

I kinda hope for Cullen to be a LI. He would fit the pretty boy criteria, although that's not the only reason people are into him. Garrus has a big following, and he's definitely not fit into the pretty boy category. I'm not into looks as much as personality (just ignore my avatar), as long as they're interesting. I don't find Anders or Fenris to be attractive, but Anders is definitely pretty interesting as a LI.

Well, I wouldn't say no to a good looking male LI. But then again, I would prefer "interesting and lovable" over "considered attractive" anytime ... Also, tastes differ. None of the previous LIs really match my usual taste, for example, but I still like them and their romances.

 

(Dark haired would indeed by nice, for a change. Or just anything a bit more ... manly. A bit more mature, too, maybe. Emotionally stable, interesting, charismatic, can handle himself. A sense of humor ... Oh, and please give him really intense eyes when you're already at it, thanks very much ...)

(Also: Wouldn't trust male Isabela too much, but damn he'd have been hot ...)
