I feel more rebellious when I play as gay male Inquisitor. Don't know why ![]()
I guess it adds to rebel persona somehow, maybe that's just me

I don't know why I feel that way but I do.
There haven't been any real gay character in series so I naturally assume its something Thedas frowns upon? Judging from conversation with Zevran not many men are OK with such things in Thedas. Anyhow when I'm like "F you world" persona I feel like being gay adds to that persona.

No really, why would being gay make you more rebellious? I wasn't attacking the guy, I just don't get it ![]()
EDIT: Alright got it. Yeah, it seemed to be frown upon a little, in origins at least. Oghren commented about it too. But then again, he's Oghren. In DA2 no one gave a ****.

Um...no. Alot of Thedas just views it as a personality quirk. Tevinter looks down up on it but it's...Tevinter.

Because being openly gay is rebellious.

Huh? Why would Tevinter look down on it at all? I mean, they have a transgender Magister, so they probably don't care about gay men and women.

I've never heard of Tevinter looking down upon it, at all ![]()

Danarius disapproves -10.

Wait transgendered Magister? who? And I'm just going off memory. I believe there was a codex about it being looked down upon for Tevinter nobles to not be straight.
@rainbow: let me look up the codex...

You think the It wears that persona to the senate sessions?
We were presented that during a private gathering, not the Imperium society.

Well if I remember correctly Anders and Zevran point out that not many men openly talk about such things (you know what). But the warden/Hawke is clearly a rare man, they claim.
I think Tevinter just wants more mage babies and since gay couples can't make them... you know.
Here it is
"What I find most interesting is that, despite the lack of open discussion on matters of human sexuality, there is commonality to be found on the subject in all Andrastian lands.
Typically, one's sexual habits are considered natural and separate from matters of procreation, and only among the nobility, where procreation involves issues of inheritance and the union of powerful families, is it considered of vital importance. Yet, even there, a noble who has done their duty to the family might be allowed to pursue their own sexual interests without raising eyebrows.
The view on indulging lusts with a member of the same gender varies from land to land. In Orlais, it is considered a quirk of character and nothing more. In Ferelden, it is a matter of scandal if done indiscreetly but otherwise nothing noteworthy. In Tevinter, it is considered selfish and deviant behavior among nobles, but actively encouraged with favored slaves. Nowhere is it forbidden and sex of any kind is only considered worthy of judgment when taken to an awful excess or performed in the public eye
-From In Pursuit of Knowledge: The Travels of a Chantry Scholar, by Brother Genitivi."
Huh. Well power rules in Tevinter so I guess they just stfu if one is powerful enough

Really? I thought Zev was more "not trying to get all in your space not sure how it's like here" cause he was used to Antiva.

Yeah, I can understand maybe it's looked down upon in some of the noble houses, but if you're a high ranking magister like Danarius or Mae, they'd be too scared to say anything against you.
'actively encouraged with favored slaves'
Icky.

That's because you allowed Zevran to hit on you. Do it first!

Yeah I'm not picturing anyone saying anything least they have a death wish.

I'm hoping that doesn't mean with the masters but I'm not holding out much hope. ![]()

Ooooh. I guess I could replay DAO soon enough.

I wouldn't worry too much. All the companions have not been announced yet and as far as I'm aware none are confirmed li's of either sex.Alistair, Zevran, Anders, and Fenris were stunning. I get that there was little variety. But can DA fans not be completely denied access to at least one guy who fits the above sexy criteria? I don't judge those who are intrigued by dwarves or qunari, but I find it unfair that the two female companions (likely LI's) are gorgeous (and both human) but so far the revealed males don't fit the same standard of beauty.
There's a strange double standard out there that women must be beautiful but men can get away with being short, bald, missing an eye, etc. Also - this: http://jezebel.com/y...-dud-1501222536
Edit: "Pretty" can mean attractive - a hunk. Some beautiful male eyecandy. That sort of thing. Pretty does not mean that I'm looking for a male that looks like a woman. Examples of pretty boys: Aidan Turner, Tom Hiddleston, Hemsworth brothers.

None have been announced as Love Interests yet.
Meh, I just want an LI who is somewhat sane. I've dated tall men, mid-height men and short men, hell I'm 5'4 / 162.6 cm myself so I am a short guy. ![]()

That can be easily explained from practical reasons. It's frowned down among nobles because they cultivate mage lineages for centuries, and every s/s pair reduces the prowess of particular lineage. While being actively encouraged with slaves it reduces the chances of siring bastards and having all kinds of troubles (including moral), dealing with outcomes.
