Am I the only one who feels that Mass Effect has had the majority of the high quality merchandise treatment so far? I understand that ME is probably the more popular and marketable franchise to the mainstream consumer, but it'd be nice to see Dragon Age paid a bit more attention. Currently, the BioWare Store has 78 Mass Effect products for sale to Dragon Age's 15. Of course that does not account for items from either franchise that have long since been released and discontinued, but the current disparity is somewhat typical, it seems.  In addition, I'd argue the quality and variety of Dragon Age products is quite lacking compared to Mass Effect's. Where we might get (just for example) large-scale Normandy and Reaper models, Kotobukiya Bishoujo character statues, replica weapons, all manner of hoodies and apparel, in addition to the reliable standbys like t-shirts and lithographs, Dragon Age is more restricted to just those aforementioned usual suspects in addition to a couple of niche odd's and ends (coasters?).

One of the things I appreciate the most about my Collector's Edition of Dragon Age: Origins is the beautiful cloth map they shipped it with.  It was just a really nice touch of something extra that felt very unique to the franchise. All in all, a nice piece of loot (for a series that's all about the loot!  :D)

I'd be enthusiastic about more stuff like that; products that are significant to the franchise outside of simply being random art printed on a t-shirt or mug. While those are fine and will always be in demand, they don't exactly work me into a frenzy the way a huge scale Flemeth statue might (the small one Dark Horse made is very disappointing and INCREDIBLY brittle). Something like the limited edition World of Thedas was a good start.

What do you all think? Do you feel like DA merchandise to this point has been pretty lacking in creativity and variety? What kind of products do you think would be a bit more "outside the box" - yet successful and desirable - than the usual?

Please try not to turn this into a Mass Effect vs. Dragon Age and which franchise is more marketable debate. Let's try to keep this about how we might like to see the quality of BioWare's Dragon Age merchandise improved!

I would love to see more DA merchandise.  Clothingwise, I would think there are so many possibilities.  I'd love to see the blood dragon again.  More thematic (fantasy) clothing rather than crests.  I'd like to be able to walk around and people notice the cool clothing even if they aren't DA fans.  Iconic "DA-esque" clothing due to choice of color?  I'm thinking Morrigan's classic purple.  At present, the items in the store would only make sense to a DA fan.  Accessories and unique clothing (besides tees and hoodies).  I would've thought Merrill's scarf, Morrigan's necklace, Anders's feather pauldron (could be furry coat/shawl), Isabela's and Aveline's bandanas would have been game.  Badass gauntlet gloves?  Helm toques?  Replica weapons, staves.  Castle models?  Tavern mug?  Lyrium idol?  More figurines?  Flemeth?  Arishok?  Off the top of my head, past merchandise I would've bought were the Morrigan figurine (by the time I learned about it, it was sold out... plus the quality was a bit lacking) and the sword envelope opener (it was too expensive).  Large posters (not lithos)?  I have commissioned plushies and see that untapped (other than the mabari and nug)...... omg, why no dragon plushie?  Ser Pounce-a-lot?  OMG. :-D

Wow, now I can't stop thinking about how much I want a Ser Pounce-a-lot plush.

I'd love to see some more chic Dragon Age merchandise. I'd love to rock a hoodie with the Amell crest on the back, or the Seekers emblem (fingers crossed when Inquisition drops). I'm always a sucker for high-quality statues (like the Sideshow Shepard - how great would it be to see something similar for Alistair, Hawke, or the Inquisitor?).

Hopefully DA:I's release balances out the store.

I'd like a Dragon Age version of the ANGL hoodie, too, with Fade-green dragon wings on the back. Maybe something akin to this:

I'd love to see the blood dragon again.

I've actually been hunting for the blood dragon (red) t-shirt for quite some time, as well.  Please, please, re-release this.
